| Ok, so I am planning on building a pc, I'm not sure if I am going to do GtX 970 or GTX 970 sli, but, apparently I need liquid cooling because the 900 series tend to overheat. Is liquid cooling enough or should I add a fan for a gtx 970. Same thing, if I chose gtx 970 sli, would liquid cooling be enough? The cooling system I am thinking of doing is 240mm Asetek 570LXL CPU cooler. Does the cpu cooler cool the GPU too? Or should I just do air cooling? |

| Only do liquid cooling if you do a custom loop. Otherwise, get a good configuration of intake/outtake fans. |

| sli doesnt give you a perfect performance increase, 2 cards wont give you 200% the power |

| I know I heard it's only 25-50% increase but I noticed the fps doubles. |

SLI/Crossfire is only really worth doing if you get a single mid/high end card now and then get another later on when they are cheaper.
Literally the only use for it imo. |

Firstly, you probably won't need 2100MHz RAM unless you're running an APU
Just get 1333MHz or 1600MHz
Secondly, RAM speed doesn't really equate to how fast programs load

ummm kind of because it's a hard drive...
if you lack storage, buy a hard drive (HDD or SSD)... if you have plenty, don't waste your hard earned cash!
you will be terminated soon. have a nice day! |

You should put your OS on an SSD so it doesn't take 11 hours to boot up, and put everything on an HDD because they can store a lot.
You should get a 512 GB SSD and 4 TB HDD. |

| Isn't 512gb ssd an overkill? 4 Gb is way too much for a hdd |

@Both
No. Prebuilts are usually overpriced and mediocre. |

Don't buy GTX 970 SLI. Just get a 980. You do not need liquid cooling
I suggest the ACX 2.0 model from EVGA. Get the Superclocked one. It's awesome and it does not overheat. The fans actually haven't turned on once for me because it stays that cool. (The fans only turn on once you get reach 50c) |

Name, 2100Mhz is slower than 1866mhz. 1866 is actually the fastest I think unless you get to like 3000mhz.
You seem like a noob to PCs... I suggest learning a bit more.

Where did you get your information?
If you're going to build a computer, I would currently suggest a SINGLE 970 and then another one when they get cheaper. There is NO NEED to liquid cool a 970, as it will perform just fine with it's stock cooler.
Please only go with air cooling for the GPU and not immediately jump into the world of water cooling, too.
"Btw whats the point of ssd and hdd combo?" Having a SSD for the Operating System and only the most important files that you would love to have open quickly (Adobe AE, Adobe CS, Sony Vegas, Fraps, video games you play a lot, etc.) and put everything else on the high-capacity HDD.
"Is there a point in getting an ssd if your ram is fast? the ram I selected is 2100 MHz" RAM minimally contributes to how fast something boots up, so getting high-speed RAM wouldn't help you that much. I prefer going with the current industry standard - 1600MHz CL9 at at least 8GB.
"I heard 1600 mHz is slow" No, that is false information you've acquired there. 1600 MHz is more than enough for today's computers.
"just stick to buying prebuilts lol" Oh god no, please just no.
For any professional help on the theme of building your computer, please visit Reddit's /r/buildapc and create a thread. A lot of people who actually have appropriate knowledge about computers will come help you.
You may also attempt adding me on ROBLOX and attempt to acquire my Skype, over which I can help you with any other concerns you might have.
