…Or maybe both.
You see, my idea is that world population is decreasing because most of the air outside the cities are getting thicker. And why is this a problem? Well, there are these beings that live out in this smog and try to find ways to kill you. They aren't prepared to face the people directly at the city, but when you step away for a while in time, they try to kill you. The big picture, is that the reason who are losing their lives don't refuel on their oxygen tanks and die of little oxygen or by the creatures because the cities have a limited supply of food. This means people are being forced to collect food so the humans don't go cannibal. Water is also a scarcity in this. There is limited water as much of the seas dried up and there isn't any around town.

| Well, rain is a rare occurrence. Good comes from other cities. You scavenge. Cause of pollution is unknown. |
