A man was walking around a park waving around a BB gun that had it's orange tip taken off. The police were called and they told him three times to drop the gun and put his hands up. He didn't, and instead raised the gun at the police and got shot and killed.
What do you think?
What if I told you that was actually a 12 year old boy?
Did your thoughts change? |

I am honestly terrified and disagree with them having to the shoot the kid. But to be fair, he did try reaching for his fake gun (That didn't have the orange safety on), so of course he would get shot...
They could have at least run quickly at him, grab him, and then take the fake gun away and arrest him. |

| Kid is dumb. He earned it. It's just 1 life anyway. I can careless, maybe if it was 300+ people I would care emotionally |

"They could have at least run quickly at him, grab him, and then take the fake gun away and arrest him."
So they could be at closer range for him to shoot? They're not superheros; they don't have super speed.
yeah sure ill send this to horst wessel he definately needs coupons |

The 911 caller CLEARLY said twice that it's a fake gun most likely. The dispatch failed to mention that. The cops pulled up on scene and told him to put the gun down, and he waved and pointed it at them.
Dispatch's fault honestly. If they're not reprimanded or fired, I'm disappointed. |

| Wasn't it a 12 year old boy? The police reacted too fast. |

Also, next time parents. Don't let your kids take a fake gun into public... |

Idk what point you're trying to make here, but as far as I can see it this is all on dispatch.
And soild, dispatch was told that it was most likely a fake gun, but they did not tell that to the cops on scene. The kid was playing around, but the cops took it as a real threat. |

It doesn't matter. If someone is waving something that looks like a real gun at you what do you do? They saw it as a real gun, you couldn't tell it was a toy. The kid was 12, almost a teenager. He knew what he was doing when he went for the gun and he should have listened to police.
It doesn't matter if it's "most likely fake", re-read the point I made. If someone gives you a weird liquid and says it's most likely not harmful to drink, do you drink it?

it was the kids fault. He took the orange tip off the realistic looking airsoft gun, and then waved it at an officer
Wait, do you hear that? I think it's the sound of no one caring! |

| The cops were in the right here is what I'm trying to say. You can't tell if it's fake because the Orange tip is off. Dispatch should have at least mentioned that the gun is possibly fake, but I agree with everything they did. |

no he still shouldn't have got shot if you watched the security tape you'll see they literally came out of the car and shot him like 2 seconds later didn't assess what was going on like their supposed to, didn't try to coax the kid out of it, didn't try anything that wouldn't result in a death |

@vanillolita
well if the kid raised the gun then what are they supposed to do, let an unstable kid wave a gun around in their face? |

| Lol, are you watching the tape from worldstarhiphop or something that would obviously be biased here? They told him not once, but twice to lower the gun, but he still pointed the gun. |
