Putting valid feedback here will be hard if you never played old blockland or the old demo.
Anyway my plan for a game has two parts, one is basically build to survive with smart AI mixed with defend the thing from enemies
anyway the part I am focused on is a zen sandbox game where you are given a giant bedroom to build in [yes this sounds exactly like blockland] but the creators of blockland wanted to move away from this type of game, so my goal is to make a game with the feeling of being a toy. You can use tons of roblox tools [csg, the basic studio tools, fire, sparkles, meshes, decals, etc.] along with pre-built objects [some able to be built with in-game tools, others with custom scripts]. It is a team building games where everyone works together to build a city, town, tower, etc. There is also vote kicking and you can vote to go back in time to a minutely auto-save in case someone messes up bad or someone griefs the server. Since I feel no matter what this will be similar to blockland, I plan on no monetization |

It feels like a solid idea, if you could make it work and draw enough attention to it. But the problem would be you you would have to make some kind of money from it like ROBLOX does, with premium membership that would give you access to cooler stuff or whatever. Because basically you need to run all those servers and things and pay for the dev of the game itself sooo
yeah.
In the end it would probably just be belittled by all the other sandbox gaming communities like Minceraft [sic], Blockland, Terraria, Blockheads-- Oh wait Blockheads is an indie game app for iOS... Well you get the point.
I like the idea but here is my proposal All player eventually make their start from the infamous ~[Toy Bin]~ Where you can basically create your character and what kind of toy he is, and then there will be one big portal under the bed that every single person uses. When you go in the portal (which is basically going to be a half-constructed Lego house with the portal itself being the door or window) it will bring up an interface where you can type in the name of a player you know, or one in your friends list, or just pick to go to YOUR OWN building server, this building server of which I speak will probably just be some mini-forest or little desert or plains or something on your own little planet out in the cosmos made just for you to play and build.
I feel like this could really work for the younger crowd, like LEGO Universe did. |
