You are Norman Dunkled, ruler of the Scottish kingdom. You grew up in York, as a practical hostage to prevent turmoil between the English and the Scottish. The wars raged, but you were not to be killed, and you earned many friends during the time. You also learned military tactics and others, but you were never taught to read and write very well in York. Scotland still had war with England, and Scandinavian warlords and even Irish plunderers attacked Scotland. You were permitted to leave at age 18, and all the previous heirs died, leaving you to take the throne. Later, your father died of old age, and now you sit upon the throne.
"M'lord, there is another platoon on route to a warzone, and the Scottish soldiers are too few in numbers to defend, shall we send reinforcements?" Asks your strategic advisor, his hands resting upon a map of the main warzone. |

"Let me see the map, quickly!" I say to my strategic advisor. I think to myself, "I swear once that old b@stard in York dies and his son takes power peace will be upon us.." I then look up at my advisor again, "How many men do we have?"
(Please explain the map, and the Warzone relative to my castle, Edinbrugh) |

The strategic advisor scoots over for you to get a look, and says,"We have about 2,000 in Melrose, which is were they plan to invade." You look at the map, and see Melrose 40 miles south of Edinburgh, and 60 miles southwest of Melrose is Dumfries, followed by Stranraer another 50 miles west of Dumfries. That is the main warzone, and Newcastle Upon Tye is about 70 miles Southeast of Melrose, where they're coming from. |

| "They're closer then they were before, damn English.." I say to him, "How many are in our levys? Give specifics, how many knights, archers, infantry?" |

| "I believe there are around 100 knights, 350 calvalry, 700 archers, and 850 infantry in Melrose, and the count of the English forces is unknown but it's estimated to be about 5,000, composed of mainly archers and infantry, but a few knights are there too." |

"A thousand men can hold a sturdy castle and keep against five times their number, each man on a wall is worth ten on the ground, the English would rather starve us out then lose men of their own."
I say, I continue speaking with,
"Send ravens to the Lords in our proximity, tell them to raise their banners and march to Edinburgh now." |

| Your strategic advisor nods, and goes out to write letters, giving them to Ravens as they fly off. |

What time of year is it? Summer I presume.
Next I call for a servant to fetch my steward. |

It's summer, within the trees threatening to brown their leaves and drop them to the ground. A servant walks your steward towards you, and the steward asks,"Yes, m'lord?" |

| "What do our coffers look like? Also, I want a history of the houses of Scotland, you are to discover the names, banners, and lands of the Lords in our proximity, surely Count Conrak will come to our aid, nonetheless." I say to him. |

| "Your treasury is rather sparse, the war has been expensive. And yes, indeed Conrak will come," He says, before going off to do research on the houses of Scotland. |

| I observer her, does she look familiar? I then say, "Come with me." as I head to a servant and order them to bring food to my quarters. |

You've never seen her before, and she asks,"How may I help you?" Your servant nods, glances at the lady, and goes to get food, er... Fancy food with fancy glasses. |
