...pathos, ethos, and logos in LA class this week. In my eyes, aspects of pathos, ethos, and logos can be subjective. I could see small elements of humor in something that's fact-based and say that it's both pathos and logos and would probably get points taken off.

Eh, I guess, but it won't be fun getting a poor grade on it as I know I will. I'll probably forget to mark every single bit of tiny print on the advertisement and get 30 points taken off, haha.

"What's a patho and an etho?"
Pathos, ethos, and logos are three methods of convincing audiences to take sides. They've been used since the time of the Greeks.
Pathos: Appeal to emotion (IE: Humor, love, those sad puppy commercials, etc.) Ethos: Appeal to trust (IE: Trustworthy person endorsing a product, owners of the product showing how trustworthy they are, etc.) Logos: Appeal to fact (IE: "4 out of 5 dentists...," etc.)

"cheat"
Cheating gets an automatic 0.
"Cheating" includes "plagiarism." One time, a girl in this teacher's class got a 0 on like a 200-point project because she "plagiarized. (she used SparkNotes as a reference and didn't cite it, I think)."

Nothing. I understand the concepts, it's just too subjective for my tastes. Whether something's pathos, ethos, or logos can sometimes be a matter of perspective.

You'll have to be objective, then.

Mind elaborating?
"You'll have to be objective, then."
Most likely, if what you said is the case. |
