Hi
So I think mainstream songs are annoying mostly because 'Let it Go' from Frozen was such a bad song and I saw the movie at my school like 2 and a half times and everyone kept singing 'Do you want to build a Snowman' during math class...
but there is more to it than that..like justin bieber, and selena gomez and miley cyrus (who is a bit crazy) are actually singers cover artist should get a chance
And then Taylor Swift made a song called 'Shake it Up' which is realllly annoying and repeats the same thing over and over.
I mean maybe I just don't like music...(besides Cas Haley Walking on the Moon and Luciana Zogbi who are good cover singers BTW)
I think One Direction is annoying too and maybe Arianna Grande
but not all mainstream songs are annoying (srry 4 my grammmer im laZy_)
okay bye :) |

this thread went downhill fast
the frozen soundtrack was pretty good and you spelled Ariana incorrectly, and she isn't annoying in the slightest
I'm not neglecting either |

Mainstream songs have to appeal to their audience. For example, artists like One Direction and Taylor Swift need to make songs that appeal to young, hormonal, boy-crazy girls. This accounts for a large majority of 8-15 year old girls, giving them a large fanbase. I'd say that most listeners of pop music don't wanna listen to music with sad, deep, or moving lyrics, despite what the background music is. Or, they won't listen to a song unless it has a cool or catchy beat, no matter how well-written the lyrics are.
Speaking of catchy, the reason many people may find mainstream songs annoying is because, oftentimes, there's something about the song that gets it stuck in your head. The fact that its catchy is sometimes the only reason why a song is popular. When everyone's singing a particular song all the time because its catchy, it gets annoying REALLY fast.
Just think about how many people went from loving "Let It Go" to hating it in a matter of months... |

@Vexull True. People/bands like System Of A Down have been mainstream. |
