A young elf has been declared a heretic and is sentenced for execution in a week. You found him at a bar heavily drinking. You asked him what's wrong and he explained to where he convinced you to help clear his charge of heresy. He promises you a fortune, as one of his family members is an aristocrat in the King's Court. After asking him why his family memeber won't help him, he explains that it's his rival brother. He plots to assassinate him after his charge is cleared and live a high life. You finally agree.
Options: A. Order a platter of food and continue to converse with the heretic. B. Leave the bar and head to the church to look for any clues about why the minister declared the accusation of heresy. C. Leave the bar and record suspicious characters amongst the church's staff. D. Leave the bar and go to the public Inn to hire a traveling detective.

| I don't know why, but I was somewhat hoping for a Arbiter storyline. Or at least something similar. |

Because apparently death row inmates are allowed to wander outside of prison and drink to their hearts content. |

@Mage He wasn't imprisoned. It was a random accusation from the church so they decided to get proof from either party by the end of the week or he'd be executed.
You wander around the church and observe the monks. "One in particular, Brother Gery clutches to the ceremonial dagger tightly." you observe. He also clutches the bible of the pantheon closely. Remembering a verse that all monks must abide, "For thee who demand to see the mighty God of Power, they must show their true power at the cost of another's life" as such with all demands of the Great Gods to sacrifice something to achieve their interest.

And you typically hold suspected criminals, you do not allow them to roam free so they may perhaps...Oh...I don't know.
ASSASSINATE THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE!??!
What? This kid is clearly guilty of whatever he is being accused of. An alcoholic, bribing some shady stranger, willing to assassinate his opposition? Let the elf burn at the stake and end this RP. |

Of course not. I cannot even expect the Spanish Inquisition, much less defy it. |

Mage, it is not by tradition to hold those who are possibly guilty to hold and leave them what little pleasures they have if they're on death row. Plus they don't know that he bribed the stranger.

Yes. It is. One example of why this is used is so obviously guilty people that haven't been convicted yet can't wander free and kill high ranking officials.
Plus it stops them from fleeing their fate.
This plot makes no sense. |
