"I think this is what makes ROBLOX kind of interesting. Not only are those who play games growing up before our eyes, so are the folks who make the games on ROBLOX. What I hope to see as time goes on, we'll keep gaining new younger players, however those who grow up with ROBLOX will begin creating and playing more complex games on ROBLOX as well. So, we'll end up with a series of games targeted towards younger audiences, but also a large collection targeted towards older audiences.
I think things such as DevEx create incentive to create more complex games, however it doesn't create any incentive for people to play those more complex games. Many ROBLOX users seem to like the instant gratification of a simple obby more than a hard fought battle through an RPG. Is there anything we can do to make playing complex games more rewarding?"
Well, to make complex games more rewarding, you could try hosting more competions more, like what used to happen back in 2009 to 2011, I think? They'd let people join in on contests to build and make games. I never entered them, but I loved to see what people made. That's the key to it. Sort of like that games contest thing you did in Halloween.
I'm working on something myself, it's just a building showcase, but it's nice so far.. http://www.roblox.com/WiP-place?id=158292439

The main thing here is, why not try hosting more game development contests? It's a great chance for developers.

| Hmm true, I've seen a lot of well crafted games get pushed over by a simple copy and paste obby or "build to survive" game.... |

Sure, things like the GCC that we did at Halloween are great for people who make games, however I believe only 1 of the GCC games made it to the front page for an extended period of time.
What that may show is we've got lots of people willing to make complex games, but not enough people willing to really play them. I think we've got to find ways to make people interested in playing these top notch games not just once, but playing them again and again. |

| I also think a question game creators need to ask themselves is "Can we make a complex game that also has the instant gratification people enjoy?" I think the answer is yes. Difficult, but possible. |

Can we just have some games for the older audience? I'm kinda fed up of my childhood fantasies being shown again :/ Transformers LOL I laughed when I first saw it.

Well, if the admins feel like it, why not gather a team of developers to build an interesting game that people will play. The Winter Games 2014 consisted on that, so why not do that soon?

I mean, I'd personally help, but I'm more of a builder than a scripter.

Also, may I ask why personal servers aren't saving for me? I'm an in-game builder, and it's interfering with my building..

It isn't complex really, I've just started to script, so I'm learning all of the functions.

This isn't scripting helpers, lets stop talking about this, let's get back to the main topic here.

Lol agreed..
And about your contest Idea, I think having a once contest a month would be a good thing. Mostly because 1. Obviously increase incentives to boost game quality 2. Gives a majority of people enough time to make said game 3. Gives Roblox enough time to think of new contests ideas.
And possibly as a reward you could get a hat or gear based off your game(like the murder knife), a discontinued hat, or some robux. Just spitballing ideas. |

Yeah, that isn't a bad idea. Why have the Mods stopped reading this..? This is a good idea building up here.
