I started a programming club at my school, about 5 people joined.
It's getting slightly popular, I teach the class, but supervised by a teacher, of course.
Some of my friends said they plan on joining it.

I heard that doing things like starting certain technology classes in school can really increase your chances of getting a scholarship to MIT.

Not that many but:
Lua (I'm decent in Lua, but I have more to learn)
HTML
CSS
Javascript (I'm actually pretty decent at Javascript
JQuery
I plan on learning C# since I want to use Unity.

I taught myself Lua by using free models, then I kind of experimented with certain parts of the script.

@Jian
Not everybody.
Also, you just make the blind assumption that I am American.
Even if I don't get into MIT, why not go to a regular university?
By the way, you spelled "bud" wrong.

I found books helpful.
I learned the majority of Javascript and JQuery on a book.

@jonny
What rule in the English language states that you opinion is fact?
In fact, it is pretty much the opposite, since opinions are always separated from facts.

"Data is worthless"
I beg to differ.
Since you cannot provide any evidence, your argument is invalid.

"Not everybody." nothing extraordinary about starting a club at school. you should do something bigger than that. for example, start a programming club in africa
"Also, you just make the blind assumption that I am American." made* and when?
"Even if I don't get into MIT, why not go to a regular university?" go big or go home
"By the way, you spelled "bud" wrong." you clearly didn't read captain underpants |
