(Just a non-mental note to myself)
I just stood there, on the second floor of my father's castle. I stared at what was on the floor: Blood. And my parents were lying there, motionless. I was suddenly about to burst into tears when I kneeled down in front of their bodies, staring at their faces. I cried in their blood, feeling as if I was dead, in their shoes and lying where they were.
It's hard to believe someone could survive something such as this, which my mother and father didn't. I inhaled.
I heard a pocketknife open as I knew it was coming from the back of me. I refused to turn around or I'd be dead. The knife was suddenly pushed slightly onto the back of my neck, which oozed around an ounce of blood but it still stood straight, at least it wasn't enough to hurt someone real badly.
I froze in place. If I moved, my parents wouldn't be the only ones lying on the ground. Maybe it hurt more than I thought it did. My parents had never let me experience pain before. The figure chuckled. I could tell it was a man. The knife poked a gash into the back of my neck, all purposely shaped into a curved symbol, kind of like an upside-down Omega symbol. My parents had the same markings on them as well. My mother's marking was on her wrist and my father's marking was on his ankle. It looked like it must have hurt. And now I am feeling the pain.
My neck bled slowly. I could feel the blood flowing downward, not even having to touch it. I didn't feel anything after that, or hear anyone, so I turned around. He was gone. I took one last glance and paced down the steps to tell the castle guards, but when I arrived at the bottom of the long winding staircase, the guards looked at me. There were two of them. One stood taller than the other. I was a tad shorter. The shortest guard ran over to me.
"Prince Leon, are you alright?" He grabbed a rag and quickly went to the castle fountain to soak it with water. He patted it down on the obscure looking marking for the blood to soak up. It hurt. My eyes started to water as I thought about my parents again.
"Oh, it's terrible Cordeau!" I winced as tears were pelted onto his dark blue coat.
"What happened?" Cordeau said. He rubbed my back. He didn't know what to do in situations like this. The only thing he knew about how to calm a child down was to rock him in his arms. But he was too young for that.
"My parents! They are-" I exhaled while I started to hyperventilate.
"Yes, the um, King and Queen?" Cordeau said again for verification. He sort of looked worried while he asked.
"Yes, a man killed him!" I paused. The guards ran upstairs to where I had started. The blood had not yet dried. Of course it wouldn't have. Royalty blood is everlasting. The tall guard noted that the markings were the same as mine. Cordeau looked worried.
They stared at my parents, like they were afraid of their blood, kind of like I had been. I don't blame them.
"Prince Leon, go to your room now!" A guard demanded. "We'll take care of this immediately!" Cordeau stated.
"But, I feel safe with you guys. You're not strangers. You're guards!" I exclaimed. I didn't want to have to leave them. Cordeau looked very agitated, his face always contained a hint of scorn,
"Go to your room at once!" He demanded.
Even though I was the prince, I obeyed his orders. He's older than I am. I respect him. That's why I respect my brother, Neal. He's king now.
I ran up the central stairs which were not very long. I sensed his eyes following right behind me. At least that's where I thought they were.
I took a turn into a semi-empty room which was large and contained nothing but a carpet and newly painted walls. I opened the doors on the left. It was my room.
There were blue walls. Mostly anything blue I could find was placed in my room. Usually, they were on my shelf, or shelves. I would consider it if you call it a shelf, since there were two conjoined shelves conveniently placed together. I usually contrast the blue with red all jumbled into the blue regions. Usually I add fabergé eggs here and there. At least nobody knew about them. Well, at least not yet.
I have always admired the tassels on the red and blue carpeting next to my full blue bed. It sets the contrast. I like almost anything contrasted. It set the room straight. My dad, or the previous King did not think so.
For the past hour, I got a bit bored lying on top of my bed so I started to sneak over towards my brothers room. It's interior was green and white. He kept everything straight. The room was just like mine except there was only one shelf and not two. I felt okay with that, I only use one of my shelves anyway.
I had been looking around, searching for my brother Neal, but I couldn't find him anywhere. I noticed that latched onto his closet there was a sheathed sword: My sheathed sword. I picked it up and unsheathed it. It was an iron sword with a cyan patterned dye outside of the sword, though some silver was visible. The sword also contained my name engraved onto the golden hilt. It looked like he had polished it. I smiled at my reflection in the metal portion of the sword. It didn't really need any polishing, I just polished it about nearly a week ago. I should still thank him for doing a good job, but he wasn't around for me to thank.
I then sighed and started to head towards the door when suddenly another blade gets pointed towards my throat just as last time. This time however, the figure was different. It was a woman.
"Don't move!" She demanded, keeping her knife aimed at me. I just stood there. Any moment I had to keep losing, the more I painful my death would be. I stared into her eyes as I swiped my feet under her to trip her. As she fell she had dropped her knife. In the process, I lifted my cyan sword above my head and down to her neck. I stopped there.
"How did you get here and what do you want?" I asked quite aggressively now. Hopefully she couldn't see my cowardice. She stared into my eyes like hypnosis, but it was no hypnosis.
"I came through the roof, and my mission is now to serve you." She exclaimed.
"To what?" I asked, feeling very confused.
"You bested me at my own game so I now shall do whatever you say my lord." She took off her black mask and started bowing down to me.
I didn't like this. Would this mean that she's my slave until death?
Furthermore, she looked stunningly beautiful. Her light brown hair came down like the sun's rays. I couldn't just take her in as a slave.
"Arise," I demanded.
She did as told. I looked at myself as if I was the king. I paused to gain control of myself.
"Now you don't have to call me 'Lord' or 'Master'." I explained.
"Then what am I supposed to call you, your majesty?" She asked politely.
"Just call me-" I paused for a moment. "Just call me Leon." I beamed a smile as we both exited Neal's bedroom and were headed downstairs.
In the process, as we reached the bottom of the stairs, Cordeau and the other guard stopped us.
"Halt!" The other guard said. Cordeau squinted at us as usual. "Who is this girl and how did she get in?" the guard frowned at us.
"Uh," I paused. "This is uh-" I paused and she filled it in.
"-My name is Cilia," She said "and the prince brought me in as a guest. He's bringing me out." Cordeau smiled,
"Good job Leon." Cordeau smiled again as he led her near the door.
"Wait!" I yelled. "I need to bring her home." I demanded. Cordeau rolled his eyes.
"Fine, I'll call the royal horse, and you better be back immediately!" Cordeau finally stated as he mimicked a whistle with his hands and blew softly, making a beautiful sound.
We set foot outside of the big double doors. I looked on the ground. Grass. It's been a long time since I have stepped outside. I don't even remember stepping outside before. Maybe when I was a tike, but not since after that. Now it felt nice. The air felt humid and warm. The leaves were falling. It's a wondrous sight since I rarely even take a chance to look out my window. The horse came to us as we both saddled upon it.
"So..." I paused to look at her. "Where to?" Cilia gazed at me for a brief second and then turned back away from me.
"This is where I take the reigns." She said as we switched sides. I almost took a tumble as she motioned the horse to take a sharp turn West, but I still held onto the saddle and part of the reigns that Cilia didn't attempt to pick up. I stared at the back of her red hair.
I looked around. The area was getting too congested with trees that I could barely even see the sky. A couple of minutes later I asked her where we were going. She didn't answer. She either couldn't hear me because of the gusts of wind or that she was intentionally trying to ignore me. I sighed as I looked around to see no village in sight. I don't even think I am permitted to go this far without one of the guards with me.
The sky turned black as I lay asleep on the horse. Raymo was what we called him. I loved him since he was a small colt. I still loved him since then. We met when I was a small child, around four years old.
There was a blanket of leather on top of me which Cilia obviously could have put on me, but she wasn't on top of the horse. The reigns were tied to a post as she was standing about ten meters from. She looked up. She was in a tiled area with tiled walls and floors. Vines wrapped around most of the ground and walls, which really creeped me out a bit. I chose to ignore it.
"What is your service here?" A heavy voice came from one of the slits on the wall. Cilia stared at the wall blankly. She reached out her hand and it emitted a bright but dull light. I stared at it from on top of Raymo. It was a strange gas, but I decided to shield myself from it. It seems to take some effect on human skin. Do it helped me to avoid that.
Cilia seemed to be still emitting the gas from her hands. It creeped over to Raymo. He began to sparkle eerily. Raymo just stared at me, which scared me at first. Then suddenly two wings sprouted from the torso of the horse. He neighed and whinnied. I gasped in astonishment. I couldn't believe it. She had Imperium. I've never seen or witnessed the power of Imperium before. I stared at the lights that emitted from her hands, wondering how a person like her could produce that amount of power.
It seemed strange, but not if you actually think about it. Imperium is when you hold absolute power, like her. She has it but I don't, which got me a little disappointed. I mean why her? I should be the one with Imperium! I was a prince, and she wasn't part of the royal family, or at least I don't think she is.
The tiled walls slowly creaked open as the green gas diminished. She gave a quaint smile and galloped back towards the horse as she guided Raymo towards the entrance. It appeared to be dark. Once inside I uncovered myself. I stared at her, frowning.
"You didn't tell me you were 'that' kind of a person." I gave my best poker face as she turned to look at me. She jumped and turned towards me as the horse turned and stopped.
"Yeah, I thought you would've killed me. I thought you'd still be asleep still. So I proceeded." Cilia replied. I just quaintly looked at her. I didn't say anything. "Stay here." She slowly said, getting off the horse.
"Will I need to cover myself again?" I asked. Cilia shrugged.
"No, I guess not." She stated, giving a quick smile.
She waltzed into a room which was out of reach so I couldn't see. I sighed and thought everything would be alright, so I was about to doze off to sleep as Raymo let out a slight whimper. I smiled, barely to look up again. Raymo stared at me, almost appearing to give a wink. I then smiled back, not paying any attention and drifted off to sleep.
----------------------------
I woke up again. I appeared to be on the floor of the eerie tiled ground. Raymo had somehow disappeared because I didn't see him around.
I didn't see Cilia as well. Was she still behind the wall? I know this is considered snooping, but I checked around the corner. I saw a lot of halls. These halls somehow looked vaguely like this place didn't want me here. I observed my surroundings. This room looked like it had blue tiled walls and everything. The door shut behind me and a water leak came in from the ground. I turned back to the puzzle. There was a hole in the middle. There was an upside-down doorway that opened above me. It seemed unreachable.
I glared at the ground. The water had reached the bottom of my knees.
I noticed a circular sized hole in the ground with a small fountain inside of it. It seemed like the strange liquid erupted from the spot. I stepped on it. It seemed to crumble a bit. I used one of the pieces of marble to plug up one of the holes that erupted the unknown ooze.
I picked it up. It seemed very heavy: it was. I raised it above the screw and started turning it clockwise. It worked, and permanently stopped the flow. I looked around. Two more to go and the liquid was still rising. It was up to my hips this time.
I picked up another piece of rubble and stopped another section from erupting. There was a crack on the ceiling, it kept splitting apart. 'Holy crap' I thought, seeing as if the ceiling broke before me.
The rubble got me closer to the doorway, but I still couldn't reach the ledge that led towards the exit. Trying to stay away from the liquid, I gasped for air. Then, there was no air left. I felt like I left the world thinking about my parents, 'Goodbye father. Goodbye mother.' was my final thought as I wept as I drowned inside the liquid.
-----------------------------
I awoke, my eyes a bit grey or periwinkle colored. I blinked. I saw a guy with black hair adding an eye drop towards my eye. It stung. I would've scratched it with my arm, but I felt paralyzed. I couldn't move. The liquid could've been a paralyzer of some sort. I felt weak at the moment however.
Was I still dead? No, I could still see. What was this I'm feeling? I could blink, but I couldn't move, which felt strange to me. I tried moving my lips, which I did, but I couldn't form words. All that came out of my mouth were tiny bits of gibberish.
I blinked again, moving my eyes. I noticed Cilia talking to the guy who applied the eye drops. They were mainly just hovering above me.
Tears formed in my eyes. I hated eye drops, so that could've been the affect.
Cilia stared at me. Did they think I was still asleep. She leaned in and puckered her lips as kissed me. I groaned as that was the best that could have formed out of my mouth. I smiled.
She looked at me in shock as I had surely passed out again.
-----------------------------
I heard voices, but I just couldn't wake up. My eyes were too weary. I tried opening my eyes, but I just couldn't. They automatically shut. When I opened them I saw a group of people surrounded around my body. I was a bit frightened because I didn't know what they were going to do to me. I felt something touch my face. It didn't feel like a hand, or that it hurt; It just felt like something I've experienced before, which scared me. When I awoke, my eyes felt refreshed or something of the sorts, however I felt a little burning sensation in my heart.
It hurt. It really hurt. It felt like it scorched in me right to the core.
I didn't see anyone, I appeared to be in between a rock and a hard place. I shivered again. My eyes had a gray tint to them, just as before. It felt natural, like it was meant to be like that.
It really wasn't.
I had the sudden urge to cry, which I haven't had the slightest idea why. A moment later I cried again.
"Mother, father, where are you?" I whispered to myself. I couldn't just shake the fact that they were gone. I just couldn't take it. I needed answers!
No matter how cute Cilia was, she didn't give me what I needed. I sobbed. I wasn't in any of the hallucinations I had appeared to be in. I forced myself to stop crying: to get a grip. I had done so. I just sat there, lying motionless, thinking about my life so far.
I remember when I was young I used to be unpopular in school at first. I was always appeared to be the weak one. The one who picked on me was... I paused.
Cilia.
This made me shiver however, as I was the person who wanted to help her anyway. I thought for a moment as a bright shard of an arrow whizzed passed me. I looked to my right, or where it landed. I shifted upward and turned around at the shooter. I suddenly recognized this person. He was about three inches taller than me. Not just that, but I remember him from somewhere. I looked surprised. It was the man who killed my parents. I positioned my right hand at the side of my waist, but only for a moment, gasped when I realized when I had passed out that my sword and sheathe must have been taken. That's another reason I am starting to untrust Cilia.
"Sorry about your parents." The man said jokingly. "You'll meet them again soon, as soon as I finish you." He replied. He unsheathed his sword which looked a bit familiar. I didn't want to die to see my parents. I wanted to see them in the flesh, well, and alive.
"You fiend!" I yelled ferociously at him. "Wait till my brother hears about you!" I tried saying holding back a tear, and staying proud to hide back the fear I still had. "He would get rid of you and banish you from the kingdom. Thus then you'd be gone and banished forever, and you would rot like the insignificant little bastard you are.
"Oh Leon, you don't know who I am?" He asked, positioning his sword as he did me before. This time, actually stabbing my flesh harder than before. "You know too much about the Imperium as well. This is another reason to finish you off. No one should ever know we have Imperium, and we'd like to keep it that way." He paused, and pushed his knife harder than before in the front of my neck. Of course blood was dripping, more and more ounces than before.
"I..." A tear fell from my face. He knew the fear I was in, as it felt like his mind was powered through fear itself. He could feel my fear. I felt parylized, thus was why I couldn't move. I felt numb.
"Go on." The man said. "Say your final words. Let them be your final words you ever speak." He was serious, I was going to die, and speak the last words I would ever speak.
"I..." I gulped, trying to back away from the point of the sword as I felt the blood crunch through my asophagus. No use, he pushed it right back. This time, farther. At this point, I was bawling. A prince should never cry as much as this. Not as much to save his kingdom.
"CRUNCH."
I heard the man's bones separate as I notice another arrow lunge right through him. I gasped and used my shirt to remove the blood from the wound. I looked to see who the shooter was as well. It was none other than Cordeau. The man disappeared into the midst of the mist of the lake I was nearby. Cordeau ran up to me and took out his hand to raise me up.
I grabbed the man's sword that was left behind which looked oddly familiar, and thrusted it into Cordeau's hand. The result? Blood.
"No..." I whispered. "Stay away from me..." I whispered again and Cordeau ejected his hand back away from the sword that gashed his hand. Blood was my strength, I seemed to like it.
He screeched as he yeilded saying anything. He spoke a few words however, "Leon, what has happened to you?" He gazed at me in fright. I could see the fear in his eyes.I look over my shoulder towards him. I just watched him as he slowly dropped towards the ground. Trying to pry himself back up, he slams face-first back into the grass, lifeless. I then seemed to lower my guard.
I looked around and noticed nobody was around to witness it, so I stood. I walked over to the nearby lake, unequiped my armor and decided to go for a swim. It would ease my pain around my neck area and wash away the blood anyway. I felt the sandy bottom meet my dry feet. The water had an impact towards parts of my hurt places. It was around my chest area as I walked further in the water. It hit my neck. It stung, but only for a short while. I practiced my swordsmanship as well. Well, without the sword. I thought it was good practice for any upcoming attacks.
I wasn't as good with a sword as I thought I was, but practicing does make a difference.
A couple of minutes later, I exited the pool and placed the top portion of my armor above my head, which was obviously the headpiece. I looked at my gash. It looked as though it wasn't disappearing at all. I guess it would heal slowly anyway. I shouldn't rush it to begin with. I equipped the rest of my current armor pieces as well. I waited to get dry, this time standing upwards. Moments later, a kid about 2 inches taller than me approached. He didn't look familiar however. I readied the sword that killed my parents, about to stab the guy's chest.
"Wait!" He yelled at me. I quickly dropped my guard as I decided to let him speak, noticing that he was one of the two men in my visions.
"I saw what you did back there, and I'd have to say, you showed an act of cowardice, not fighting that guy back." He inhaled and exhaled again, continuing on with his sentence. "But, you came back by killing one of your own kind. So I respect you." He said as he gave a short bow.
"So you have Imperium." I said, remembering he was with Cilia at the start.
"Well no." He replied back. "Name's Mo, I just provide medicine. I am a herbalist, if you would like to call it that Prince Leon." I looked at him as a smile returned on my face.
"Please..." I replied, keeping my smile, "...just call me Leon."
"Mo, do you know where Cilia is?" I asked impatiently. He looked at me with a frown, like he didn't want me to ask that question.
"No, she left a couple minutes ago."
"Well, no prince, er... Leon." He hesitated a bit. "S-she is headed East, towards the castle. Said something about your parents and reviving them I suppose?" I had looked at him with a shocked expression spread across my face.
"We must go there then, I can't leave my parents' care in the hands of a low life." Mo stared at me. He spoke again,
"I thought you liked her." Mo replied, kind of looking at me in fear, or as a type of monster. I stopped for a moment as I looked around at all of the different types of fall looking trees.
"Where's Raymo?" I asked him, about to unsheathe my sword at him. Mo stepped back a step or two.
"Are you insane? Are you going to kill everyone you see and get no advise or help at all? Or are you going to let them live and atleast try to help you?" Mo speeched, "So if I tell you where he is, I'll get killed by your puny sword as well?" He paused as I unhandled my sheathe. He licked his lips and kept going. "And I don't know where he is. So are you going to kill me? Or are you going to let him go? You don't need a donkey. I understand how you feel about your parents, but this is not how you show feel about some lazy pet." I exhaled.
"He's not my pet, and he is part of my family." I said. Tears bawled out of my eyes. "I'm sorry if this got out of hand, it's just..." I paused. "I miss my family. I'm homesick. I miss Henry. I miss Julie." I covered my hands over my face. I couldn't see anything as well, with all of the tears rolling out of my eyes. I wiped my eyes with the sleeves of my shirt, which helped get rid of some of the tears. Mo had given me a tissue. I refused his gesture.
"I'll help you find them." Mo said willingly, "...and I think I remember Cilia saying that they're not dead." He remembered.
"What?" I asked him, only to answer the question myself. "Henry and Julie are alive?"
"Yes," Mo said. "When you were unconscious Cilia said that your parents weren't dead, that they were just paralyzed in a way that they're not dead, and they can still possibly be alive." He continued as my mouth fell wide open, flabbergasted, "So maybe there could still be a chance that your king and queen could still be alive." I motioned towards the direction of the castle,
"Then let us go then. I proclaimed. "If they could still be alive then there is no time to lose." We walked back towards the castle as I got a little suspicious about Cilia so I started to ask him questions.
"So Mo, do you think that I would have a chance with Cilia?" I asked first so he wouldn't have any suspicions.
"What?" Mo looked at me, "No, I don't think so. She will never date a guy like you." Mo said as if he acted as if he were serious. His face had no emotion.
"Well, she did kiss me, so that means she shows atleast some emotion towards me." I replied to keep my confidence up.
"Dude, that was to revive you!" Mo stated. I looked oveer at him this time.
"Well, I could see you guys so you didn't need to revive me." I said again.
"It's the mark, it controls what you do see and what you don't. It has the power to control you as if it contains a mind of its own!" He paused, "So we needed the power of the mark to retreat so you would start to regain control again." He cleared things up a bit. "So whatever I can do to push the unknown entity back I'll try to do." He paused to take a breath, "You're in my hands now." He announced. I grew silent. What was he saying?
'Does this mean I'm not in complete control over my head?' I kept thinking. 'But one thing's for sure... I needed to get rid of the mark.'
The path changed from sand to gravel. "Strange, I've never visited this section of Dimonia before." Mo turned towards me with a concerning look etched upon his face,
"Dimunia? What's Dimunia?" He asked me, "This is Anodrem, not Dimonia." He stated. I scanned my surroundings,
"No, it can't be!" I was going crazy again. "If this isn't Dimonia, where have I been?" My vision grew blurry as I fall backwards and pass out.
----------------
"Leon!" A person who sounded a lot like Cilia yelled. I opened my eyes to see a worried expression spread across Cilia's face. I coughed up a bit of the liquid that had drowned me earlier. I looked around. I opened my mouth but I couldn't speak. "Leon?" She said to me again. "Are you all right?" She asked me. I pointed towards my mouth, implying that I couldn't speak. She just stared at me. "So you can't speak eh?" She asked. I nodded in response. "Well, I know a guy who can fix that. He lives on the East of Dimonia." She continued, "Maybe I can take you there." I started to think,
'Good we're still in Dimonia. But we're still missing a character from our party. I stick my hand straight out at her which meant for her to stop. I held my hand under my face and was pretending to write on it, which meant that I needed a quill, ink, and a piece of parchment.
She just grabbed me and held me over her shoulders like a ragdoll. I was extremely surprised of the weight she could carry. Well, mother wouldn't let me stand near things that would've hurt me, or that I would have to lift. She made the guards and tutors carry objects for me. However, I am lean. I don't know how that happened though. I ate my meats and vegetables; dad tells me, they help build strong muscles and bones. I guess that's not all into building my strength compared to Cilia. She must've been working hard.
The grass turned greener to every step that Cilia took. I could see the details of the trees easier. Every leaf looked more complex since Raymo was a fast horse. I can't see my surroundings easy enough on an animal that goes so fast. Each blade of grass had it's own specific look. Each blade had something significant about eachother. I think it's okay to be different really. Nothing's ever the same anyways. Maybe I should ask Cilia for a marriage? No, that'll have to wait. I'm not worthy quite yet. I shook my head which you could hardly tell I was doing with all of Cilia's running. She slowed down near the side of a small cliff. There was no town. Only grass.
Once she approached nearer towards the edge of the cliff, she bent down. I could tell that she was about ready to jump when I was about to blurt out "Cilia, don't!" When I realized I was mute, so nothing was able to even vibrate my esophagus.
I teared up a bit as soon as Cilia jumped. I closed my eyes but we never met water. I opened my eyes one by one and I realized, we were walking on air! Well, water. We were standing on the edge of air and water. I understand now that Cilia could perform many tricks. Many of which I cannot. This worries me.
I gaze upon the shining sea, reflecting the sunset's red beam across the area. It was pretty. But not as much as Cilia. Cilia really was all I could think about. Not where we were going, or where I had been... I closed my eyes, starting to drift off. Mostly about a wedding. And Cilia was the bride. ---------------------
I saw her standing there. Cilia as beautiful as ever! In a white dress as well. I was wearing a black tux which wasn't very expensive. Cilia gave a short twirl as she gazed at me. I walked along the red carpet. Everyone around me was staring at me as they had seen my parent's death themselves! Well, something along the lines of that. I shrugged as I stood next to her. The minister said some things as I soon began to say,
"I do." Then Cilia looked worried as she sobbed and slowly replied with an,
"I do." Cilia sighed as the Ring Bearer, which I've never met at all, wearing a brown suit with a red tie hands me the ring case. It slowly opened up as I bowed down to her which was a sight to see since people are usually the ones bowing down to me. Cilia was an exception.
"Will you marry me?" I asked. The ring was a huge gold and diamond one. The diamond's radius was a whopping 3 centimeters. She stared as it and cried. I couldn't tell if they were tears of joy or regret. I expect it was joy, but then she said the words,
"Oh Leon!" She ran up to me and hugged me to death. I was shocked, but I couldn't express it. Moments later, Mo burst through the door with flames in his eyes.
"You!" He yelled. ---------------------
I jumped as I opened my eyes. I see Cilia again. " Leon! Are you all right? You dozed off again!" I screamed and started to sweat like crazy. "Leon!" Cilia said again, "Your voice is back!" |

I stared into Cilia's dark brown iris'. I never spoke of the experience that had just occurred to me. It never was on my mind. My sword shifted in it's socket as I inched forward to give her a kiss. She didn't know what was going on, so she turned to a figure that was standing in front of her. He was wearing mainly brown. I couldn't tell what they were, but they just looked like peasant clothes. I rose toward his face. He was an inch taller than me. I didn't mind the fact as such until I noted who he was. His expressionless face said more than words as I spoke out,
"Mo?" I ask.
"So you know him?" Cilia questioned as she knew they had never met before. I nodded. "Leon, you don't have to nod like you still cannot speak!" She yelled at me. I gazed at Mo,
"Sort of..." I say, "...I guess you could say that." Cilia slapped Leon,
"Sort of?" Cilia questioned, "What is that supposed to mean?" Cilia stared at me. It felt like she was gazing into my soul for a second because it hurt. Either that, or it's the vines constraining me. Wait... Vines? I looked at my arms as vines wrapped around them, "I'm not letting you go until you talk!" Cilia demanded to know what was going on,
"I don't know." I said. "I saw him twice already. It's like I was dreaming, but when I open my eyes, you're always always there."
"Sorcery?" She asked. I shrugged.
"Well you said we were going back to the castle."
"I did?" She asked.
"Yes, you said that there was a way to cure my parents." I reminded her.
"Uh, yes. Don't you remember?" I asked her.
"No, but..."
"Okay then, let's go." I commanded.
Cilia commanded the vines to unhand me as I turned towards the direction we came from.
"But Leon..." Cilia said, "...you can't swim in water, and it's around a mile away." I stared at her.
"I don't even know how to swim." I reminded myself. Cilia looked at me.
"Fine, I will take you there." She have in as she picked me up and carried me as she took her dirt step onto the calm and oceanic water; then, she started running. I was amazed at how well she could use her Imperium. I couldn't even begin to think of what else she could do. The thought of it just scares me. Actually, it frightens me. I may just have to whisk her away later. I feel like I can venture out on my own.
As Cilia was rushing across the water, I see dabs of water caress my face. Splashes of water rose as she skipped along small strands of waves. And you know what that means. We were almost nearing land. I looked up and gazed at the ocean. I notice glimpses of sand and waves rushing upwards at the crashing point onto the small beach. Cilia stepped off of the ocean and into the beach. She gently put me down as she brushed her shirt to get most of the wrinkles out of it.
"Okay, to recap, we're going to our castle and-"
"Wait!" Cilia yelled back at me.
"What?" I asked her.
"I can't go." She replied as she looked down,
"W-what do you mean?" I asked her unsure of what was going on,
"I-I can't go!" She said again, this time, pushing me down. "And I suggest you not to go too." She tried suggesting for me not to go as well. I was silent for a while as I had refused to get up off of the ground,
"But it's MY kingdom, and I will not sit idly by without a ruler or a king. I bet my brother would feel the same way." I tried to keep my persistence. Cilia did not look pleased but she didn't stop me,
"Fine, I am not stopping you..." She said, "...but do as you wish. I'm not stopping you."
I stared at her.
"Fine." I stated firmly, "I can do this by myself." I stomped off in the direction towards my castle. Cilia sighed as she turned around. Walking away, she almost tripped over something. She looked to see what it was. It was a sword, handle propped up on a rock. She picked it up, "Hmm." She placed it back as she turned away. She wasn't going back. She walked back on the water as the sword glistened back at her in the moonlight.
———
I walked away furiously as I didn't look pleased by any one of our actions. Every leap I tread across the thin and windy grass, the more I want to turn around and apologize. I couldn't. I need to get to my parents.
A couple minutes later, I reached a city that stood in between mine and Cilia's. I looked at all of the dull lights. Sparks flew out of some of the lanterns around almost every turn. I should fix this place up a bit. I shouldn't pay all this attention to just mine. I looked around for a while to find someone I could talk to since I was lost and didn't know which direction the castle was located.
It drizzled down rain. Clouds swarmed raindrops in a pool of anger. Was this my fault? No. It had to be Cilia's. The gods blamed me for her doing eh?
I opened a door with a sign that read, "Breakfast at Lilly's". I closed the glass door behind me as leftover rain dropped down to the now soggy carpet. I looked around as I took a few steps forward to the front desk where a lady was standing. I gave a short gesture to her as she finally looked up at me. She wore a red dress with black shoes and a large ponytail.
"Prince Leon?!" She abruptly yelled. Everyone else in the room suddenly stopped to turn around at us. They all had surprised expression across their faces. I tugged a hood over me from under my silver plated armor. I was silent for a few seconds as this started a small commotion. I just waited for the talks to die down and then I whispered to her to make sure nobody noticed.
"Do you know where town is?" I asked as she gave a short curtesy.
"Yes I do. But must have a short rest in one of our finest rooms we have to offer! You must be tired, correct?" She asked me as she walked off towards a flight of stairs. I decided to follow her. I was a little restless back then. Maybe I should have some... I yawned.
I trudged along some of the semi-velvet steps. Each step I get more weary... And hungry. How long has it been 'til I've eaten? A day? A fortnight? Nevermind that now. I was reaching the last step as I approached a room with golden rims etched around the outside of the doorway. Well they sure know how to make a grand entrance if I do say so myself...
"This must be a room fit for a prince, no?" She asked as I raised my head. I smiled,
"For what much this town could do, I'd thank you. Our town must have been concerning too much of itself without much care for others. I must be so sorry for not-"
"Oh that's quite alright!" She nodded quickly in agreement as I mimicked her. "You must stay, correct?" She continued as I thought,
"Hmm," I stood there and was surprised when she got on her knees and started to beg.
"Please, prince!" She kept on begging, "You must!" She continued, "You can't just stop here, as you just have started your journey! Take a rest and begin it again tomorrow!" I stopped,
"Tomorrow?!" I yelled. "I mustn't. I must keep going. I only have a remainder of days left. I can't stop now!" I turned around to the way I came from inside the wooden hallway. I walked outdoors again and kept on trudging forward. The rain seemed to slow to at least a drizzle. My soles of my shoes clapped at each puddle a stepped into.
The girl stared at the door to where I had left,
"...Only a remainder of days left, eh?" She said as her voice slowly lowering into a male's as she took off a skin-mask to show her true self. She was actually a male with black, messy hair and bloodshot iris'. He thusly stared with evil eyes, "Well I must have a few days left as well..." He turned around. "Serena!" He yelled as a girl perked up and began to follow me without me noticing.
Meanwhile, Cilia approached the untidy place she called a town. She did her magical bit again, but her Imperium fizzled out. Through all of the small peepholes, rifles from the other side slid straight through them. An alarm system went off, signaling harshly sounding beeps throughout only the inside. This town must really want to be kept a secret.
Some of the rifles reloaded, though Cilia wasn't afraid. Then a voice caught Cilia's attention.
"Halt!" It said. The "it" was a short boy wearing black pants, a t-shirt, and a plaid, fuzzy jacket that was partly zipped. "Now, Cilia, is it?" He says as he bows to her. "I see your Imperium has fizzled out w-"
"Who are you?" Cilia asked as the kid started tapping his fingers together.
"Impatient are we?" He says as he stood there as if he was immobilized.
"I am 0Somner12, your ruler or everyone's current Imperium..."
"That's a lie." Cilia said as she stood completely still as well. 0Somner12 raised an eyebrow. "You're not even old enough and you don't even own-"
"-Imperium? My dear girl?" He said as he chuckled a bit. "Do you even know what cancelled your abilities of Imperium?"
Cilia then grew silent.
"I'm not even-"
"Going to ask, my dear?" 0Somner12 said as he kept a short smile. "That's okay. I understand almost everything about you." He continued, "And I know exactly what you're going to do next..."
Cilia stared at him.
"But you're not-"
"-King, my dear?" He chuckled again. "I'm 53... And how old is your said king?" 0Somner12 continued as Cilia refused to respond. The oldest king was to rule the land of Imperium. She took a few steps backwards. 0Somner12 appeared behind her as he blocked her way out. "Now, now..." He said with a raised eyebrow, "What's the fun in leaving?" 0Somner12 punched Cilia down.
I paced myself a bit. My base armor clanked around vigorously, playing a lesser tune than it was supposed to. I never realized I was slowing down until I stopped. Was someone following me? I stepped forward foot by foot. The wind flow was off. It was going ways it wasn't supposed to. Then... It whipped around in a circle. I blocked my eyes from the pain of grass as it was ripped and unearthed from the ground. I suddenly turned around as a nearby voice was heard,
"Sorry about my abrupt entrance." I jumped. She stood right in front of me. I would say she stood at around 6 feet. This was taller than I, but not by much. Her face was mainly covered by a mask.
"Who are you?" I asked in a demanding tone. The woman giggled,
"I am Ponny the Queen of Serbitior; and it is nice to meet you Leon, Prince of Dimonia." As soon as she said 'queen', I immediately fell to my knees to bow to her.
"Prince of Dimonia, you shouldn't bow like this! If you bow to me, we'd have to both bow to each other! Thus wouldn't be very acceptable." She stated as I arose to my feet,
"What brings you here?" I asked as I gazed at her fair face and blue eyes. Her nose seemed to be a little off-centered.
"The winds brought me here." She noted. "I am pushed to wherever they take m-"
"Yeah... I would love to stay and chat but-"
"Please... Prince Leon..."
"Okay, fine." I said as I sighed and swung myself on a tree limb. I stopped after one sweep and sat myself on a large branch. "Tell me more..." I gave in as she hid a small silver rifle in her blossoming cyan dress. ----- "Now Cilia..." 0Somner12 said with his arms crossed and his guard down.
"Even if you are king, I have no business with you." She said. "But since you are forcing me to stay, I guess I must parlay."
"Great!" 0Somner12 said with his dark expression on his face.
"So, Cilia was it?" 0Somner12 asked in mockery. Cilia mumbled something under her breath as 0Somner12 continued. "As you couldn't tell, Leon was it?-"
"Don't speak of him." 0Somner12 raised his eyebrow at Cilia's remark, astonished that she cared nothing for him.
"You know he has a soft spot for you?"
"I figured as much."
"And did you know I'm not king." 0Somner12 said as Cilia spoke up,
"Ha! You'd think I'd be dumb enough to-" 0Somner12 shushed her.
"And do you know who 0Somner13 is?..." He asked.
Cilia just shook her head,
"Last king I knew of was 0Somner11, and he went missing." She commented.
"What a load of bull##it! It's Leon! You knew that didn't you?"
"Wait," Cilia paused for a few seconds. "But he shows no signs of Imperium!"
"That's what he wants you to think!" 0Somner12 noted. "Somewhere inside he's ready to unleash a massive amount of Imperium tenfold! He will wipe out the entire continent!" Cilia shook her head,
"Please, let me find him now!" She yelled as the outer shield broke.
"Do as you wish." He said, "We'll all be out to get to him shortly." |

| I may accept characters in any form or fashion, as long as it is reasonable and correlates with the story's time period. |
