| If we want our populations to experience exponential technological growth and become a star-fearing civilization capable of traversing the reaches of space, we should not limit our species population. The strain on our planets resources is a necessary motivator to develop the technological capabilities to inhabit new planets or create vessels to travel space. Why would we leave Earth if we didn't need to? |

overpopulation is a myth.
we're fine.
the earth as it is can accommodate 11 billion people right now easily
in the future if we ever reach 11 billion people we will have larger farming systems.
+
the world population is actually decreasing.
alot of countries are becoming first world, and countries like japan are dying off faster than they can have children.
20-50 years ago the average spouse would have 4 1/5 children
now its less than 2.
if anything, people in first world countries should start producing more. |

| Well.. Our specie is destroying the natural habitat of many organisms and our farming methods are causing many adverse affects such as algal blooms that leave the oceans depleted of oxygen and thus kills all the fish in the general vicinity (such as in the gulf of mexico) and this is scientifically proven. |

Our farms methods are pretty stable,
did you know some algal actually produce oxygen?
+ the 'oxygen' depletion would take several million years if we actually put it into play. |
