Trying to make a game, but I'm an awful scripter and I'm not afraid to admit it.
Okay, so the first question- How can you make a game save stuff?
and
How do you make a gui at the beginning of the game where they should choose to start over or continue?

First question:
Here is the wiki documentation for DataStores, which are the optimal way to save data. DataStores save data that is constant throughout the entire game universe your game is located in.
DataStoreService: http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=DataStoreService
GlobalDataStore: http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=DataStore
Second Question:
A GUI like this will require some design, but not too much, from you. You'll have to script it yourself. The procedure should be something like this:
There are two buttons, "Continue" and "New Game"
If the player clicks "Continue", then you load their data and put them where they need to be. If the player clicks "New Game", then you wipe their data and restart them from the beginning of the game.
You'll need to work with the DataStores you use to save player data for this. |
