Talking about where you'll be foruming next a crap.
It's just a merge guys, they're not killing video game forums. They're only merging it with books/tv/movies and one other and are calling it "Pop Culture" so yes, the correct answer for where you all will be foruming will be in the new merged forum, Pop Culture. Not OT or some random ass other subforum because your video game threads WILl still be on Pop Culture. It's even under Pop Culture's description.
Jeez, you guys are all acting like it's the forum armageddon and that there will no longer be a home for VGF.

The problem is that the new forum isn't entirely focused on video games.
At least, that's my main concern. |

Cat.
Who the hell cares.
Just ignore what you don't care for and focus purely on the video game related threads.
It's that simple.
Besides, out of the three forums, VGF is the most active anyways by far, so likelyhood is that you'll get almost entirely video game related threads anyways. |

Trust me.
Offsite forums starting from roblox always die.
They may see a short burst of activity, but in the end they always fall flat.
It's just more convenient for people to use the on site forums while playing roblox as opposed to having several tabs up to manage roblox stuff and their forums. |

*playing ROBLOX*
I care less about the rest of the site, other than posting on seperate forums, I DON'T KNOW, LIKE THIS IS THE PURPOSE IN THE FIRST PLACE?

You totally didn't catch any point of my arguement.
Here, allow me to elaborate.
The only reason why people post here on VGF is because it's convenient. It's all on one webpage and it's easy to navigate to and from the forums and roblox. That all changes with off site, as the site will not look as appealing as the one on roblox and likely won't run as smoothly either(Most off site threads stemming from roblox I've seen run as slow as dirt). Not to mention that you'd have to keep another tab up, killing the convenient nature of current VGF.
Also if people really wanted to go offsite, they would go to more established, professionally run sites such as reddit, comicvine, etc.
To put it bluntly, you're trying to fill an offsite niche that's already been filled, and unless you're offering something stunningly new or groundbreaking that other sites don't have, you're not going to get very far. |

Not to mention that VGF isn't even going away and will still operate perfectly fine here on roblox, albeit under a different name.
And hey, you guys will probably have a bigger community there as well, and everyone will have video games to talk about as that's something EVERYONE here has in common across the sub forums.
So bassically, not only are you filling an off site niche that's been filled for ages, it's a niche that never needed to be filled in the first place as VGF will still be working fine and dandy here. Under one convenient location. |

And you are more than free to.
All I'm saying is this;
1) If you want to maintain the current community, the best way to go is to use Pop Culture thread.
2) If you are really THAT against pop culture thread, then don't waste your time making an off site thread stemming from this. I have a friend who does it and it never lasts long. In your case, it will be a feeble, short lived attempt at keeping together a community that was never meant to remain together forever anyways.
Life changes my friend, and with it, your friends come and go. If you're unwilling to use Pop Culture than you might as well just leave the old roblox comunity you used to forum with behind as well, and instead look to the future and the new(And probably more mature) communities you will be foruming with. It's going to happen one day anyhow. Very few of the people on this site, if any will remain a part of your life forever. |
