Backstories for each planet and star;
[PLANETS]
Earth: It's the Earth. You start here, in an open plain.
Amol: A frozen planet, that used to orbit within the Sun's habitation zone, before an asteroid impact sent it out further. Now it's frozen over, and all life has died off.
Forelhost: Methane in the atmosphere forced the plant life on the planet to adapt. The resulting trees were shorter than Earth trees, and the grass is much darker. The rings formed when the planet's asteroid moon was torn apart by gravitational flux.
Gallyi: A mysterious planet that recently appeared from seemingly nowhere, baffling Earth scientists. It's mostly dry and rocky, with constant thunderstorms appearing over the chosen build location. There also appears to be a cave with something inside it...
Volskye: A tropical beach planet with vast oceans and small, sandy islands. Very similar to Earth, if Earth happened to be a water world.
Vecsa: A cold, desolate planet. Its surface seems to consist mostly of Amethyst crystals, packed tightly and smoothed over by the planet's harsh winds. Strange, glowing green crystals have sprouted up over patches of radioactive groundwater.
Endast: Rather warm despite its cold appearance, Endast has an acidic ocean spanning most of its surface. Small, purple islands dot the ocean, one of which was chosen for the build location. Odd, glowing crystals of various colors pop up from caves and cliffs in the area. Two are larger than the others...
Miasma: The planet used to be solid, before a gravitational anomaly tore it apart. Due to the heavy amount of Neodymium in the rocks, large chunks of land remained airborne on magnetic radiation. Despite the earth-shaking anomaly, the planet continues to function normally.
Volcian: Too close to the sun to be habitable, this planet is essentially Venus. It's too hot to live on, and the surface has become mostly large lava oceans. A few mountainous hillsides escape the heat, but they are charred and black.
Drevna: Much like Mars, this reddish-brown planet is cold in some places and warm in others. It's a lot like a desert-y, lifeless Earth. Odd brownstone spirals have been worn down by the planet's wind and dust storms.
The Graveyard Belt: A strange, alien ship crashed into some asteroids and was left rusted away in space near Drevna.
Enda: An Earth-like planet orbiting the red giant star named "Malo." VIP users will end up here when they teleport.
Timor: A rocky, desolate planet absolutely covered in caves and mineral deposits. Every miners' dream is to work on Timor. Large boulders also dot its surface, which are rich in rare metals like Osmium.
Kex: When it was discovered, this planet was thought to be teeming with life due to its high carbon content. It is, in fact, abandoned. What is interesting though is that the planet appears to be made entirely out of chocolate. Miners tend to find organic material here all the time, though the planet has very few mineral ores.
Verda: A lush, if somewhat dry planet situated in a high elliptical orbit around Malo. It highly resembles most swamps on Earth, even if most of its trees are in a constant state of hibernation from lack of water. The high cliffs contain some mineral value.
Karenia: A cold, rocky planet with lots of ice covering its surface. A very strange artifact that scientists have dubbed "The Monolith" hovers mysteriously above a hill on the edge of the build location. Nobody knows what it does yet...
Eden: The third planet in the Nanairo system. A very Earthlike planet, covered in trees and shrubs. Named after the Garden of Eden due to its rich flora and fauna. The Nanairo teleporter leads to here.
Segue: The first planet in the Nanairo system, Segue is hot and humid. It's somewhat earthen, but most of its flora consists of grass. There are very few trees or larger plants. A huge volcano dominates one edge of the build location, which is in a valley.
Iliad: The second planet in the Nanairo system. Iliad is very mild, and a popular tourist destination. A strange fog covers the lower half of the planet, which is very visibly divided into two halves. The lower half contains the mist, is dark, and somewhat hot. The upper half is mild, lush and bright. The build location is a plateau that showcases both halves.
Assen: The fourth planet in the Nanairo system is Assen, the large desert planet. Its ring is huge, and mostly made of silica crystals. The planet is rich in mineral resources, but low in metal resources. Constant sandstorms shroud the planet, but the build location chosen is higher than the rest of the planet, so the sandstorms rarely invade.
Odeom: The fifth and final planet in the system, Odeom is very odd. The planet itself holds little organic life, but it seems to be made mostly out of fungi. Even the ground contains a huge layer of crushed mushrooms, and little stone. Giant shrooms sprout up out of the ground. One, on top of a hill, has a stem that gives off a strange hallucinogenic effect when touched...
Tenebris: Tenebris is one of three 'dead' planets trapped in an orbit around the black hole Nox. Tenebris is very dark, hence its name, and made mostly of granite. There is a cave on it, with some metal ores, but the planet itself is mostly dead. Due to its proximity to Nox, gravity on the planet can be weird at times.
Umbra: Umbra is another 'dead' planet orbiting Nox. It orbits far enough away to have a set of rings; the remnants of its annihilated atmosphere, frozen and trapped in orbit. The planet has no air left on its surface, and as such all life has died, leaving behind just a desolate, rocky ball. An asteroid orbits below it oddly.
Somnus: A dark blue planet, made of marble, that contains lots of...well...marble ore. It orbits Nox, and is constantly battered by debris that the black hole spews out occasionally. The planet has a carbon dioxide atmosphere, so it absorbs most background radiation from Nox, making it warmer than the other two planets, which isn't saying much given that they're both desolate and frozen. |
