I can loosely speak Spanish and I believe that if I can get the basics of French next year, I can learn both in college so I will end up being fluent in Spanish, English, and French.
I figured, by being fluent in all 3 of these
1. I'll be able to communicate and socialize with a wider range of people 2. I'll never be unemployed 3. I can read literature exclusive to only French or Spanish 4. I can talk behind people's backs without them knowing what I'm saying 5. Education is key |

French is very difficult to become fluent in, the grammar is really screwy.

You live in Madison, Wisconsin. It's not surprising that you don't understand how essential multiple language speakers are to a company |

| Cheesey learning a language while still doing other subjects in school shows that you can handle more than a normal amount of work because it's not easy for most people to learn a new language while in school |

...maybe if your job is a translator but if i'm a business owner and i need an accountant, i'm going to hire the more qualified accountant rather than the guy that can speak multiple languages
doesn't matter where you live to know that

You're wrong.
Money doesn't only stay on one continent, so in the world of finance, whether you're a teller or the CEO of an investment bank, you're dealing with euros and yen and the languages that come with them. Good luck only speaking English.
Health care, hospitality, education, law enforcement, customer service, social service, finance, and communication all desperately need multiple language speakers
