So the district is doing this Christmas thing the day before Christmas vacation. But this ONE kid's parents in ONE of the FIVE elementary and 7 overall schools said he was a Jehovah's Witness and that he would go to school, but didn't want their son to participate in the events. That's perfectly fine, they can practice Freedom of Religion, and they were very respectable.
So the school reacts by CANCELLING the event for the ENTIRE district. ONE kid in ONE school respectfully says he'll go and just not participate, then the district cancels it for everyone. |

| What's the Christmas thing though. It is a law for public school to have no affiliation with religion. But it's still weird they cancelled it |

| Oh then it's dumb. That kid must be getting a lot of flak right now. Still thinking though are they allowed to have the event. |

| Yes they are. And the kid didn't do anything wrong. His parents respectfully said they had no problem with it, they just wanted to exempt him from any possible celebratory actions. There's nothing wrong with that and the district went way overboard |
