Well, hello best reader. I will be teaching you on how to shade a shirt. There are alot of different styles, but these are the most popular and nicest.
UnionJack96's Style (Little bit hard) Well, first create your shirt WITHOUT shading. Now create another layer. Get the 'Pencil' tool and turn 'Anti-Aliasing' off. Also, click the potion until it's empty. Now, on the Color Pallette, select black and put the transparency to 163. Resize the pencil tip size to 22, 23, 24 or 25 After that, just outline it. Outline both arms at all sides EXCEPT the small part which connects the arms with the torso. Outline the torso EXCEPT the small parts which connects the torso to the arms. Outline all the rest normally. After all, the special effect called 'Gaussian Blur' in the 'Blur' section. Your shirt is done now.
Classic ROBLOX (Harder) Create your shirt WITHOUT shading. Create a second (or third) layer. Switch your tool to 'Pencil'. Go to the color pallette and change the color to black, with a transparency of 163. Change the pencil tip size to 1 or 2. Now shade it the same way as UnionJack's style, but add small spikes in the direction of your choise. Now fill it in by changing the pencil tip size by changing the pencil tip size to 5 or 6. Your shirt is done now.
Retro ROBLOX (Epic hard) Create your shirt. Create a second layer. Switch tool to the 'Elipse Select' tool. Draw a circle. Turn it the selection mode to 'Substract'. Make the circle a half moon. Now cut off the upper part so that you only have a little, curved spike. Put the spike ( with the 'Move Selection' tool) on the first place where you wanna shade it. Now select the 'Paint Bucket'. Make the color black with an transparency of 163. Turn the tollerance to 100%. Now click in the selection. It will fill in. Now do that till you shaded every single part. This may take half an hour, but it's worth it. Your shirt is done now.
NOTES : 1) Be patient! 2) Save it in a .PNG format. 3) Don't copy others' shirts and add shading. 4) Only use this for shirts, and not for body's/defaults.
TIPS : 1) Use a pen tablet. 2) Use Paint.NET (PdN) 3) After all, sharpen it. |

I made a super easy tutorial for GIMP that's way easier than all of these and looks good IMO.
Once you get used to making it my way you can make a whole entire shirt in under five minutes.
