I thought this would be fun to do, Cheesey had done this with his rookie pitcher a while back but I thought I could do this with my franchise.
I am playing as the Colorado Rockies.
-Roy Halladay acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays before Spring Training.
I'll post updates when I can. |

Yeah, true. But what can make it likable is that you can play with players that aren't around anymore.

I've skipped through the rest of the spring games and moved on to the regular season.
March 31st, game 1 of the season.
It's not often I have games like this but this one was a one-sided affair to say the least.
Rockies 9 | 16 | 0 Cardinals 0 | 5 | 0
WP: Roy Halladay - (9 IP, 5 H, 5 K's) LP: Adam Wainwright - (3.2 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 1 K)
Todd Helton; 4-4, HR (1), 2 2B, 3 RBI Brad Hawpe; 2-5, 3 run HR (1), 4 RBI
---------------------------------------
[STL] S. Schumaker; 1-3, 2B.
I'll probably do the 2nd game of the season either early tomorrow or on Monday. |

Note; I won't be doing all of the games in depth, just playing them as I go along and not writing down stats all of the time.
Here's a note though from game 10 as the Rockies won it to stay perfect at 10-0.
Franklin Morales pitched just 4 innings giving up some early runs, a 3-run shot against Chipper Jones but the Rockies came back and eventually tied it up in a back and forth game it headed to extras at 6 a piece.
11th inning and Willy Taveras gets himself a base hit with 1 out, Garrett Atkins up, Taveras attempts to lead-off from first several times but was forced to go back, as soon as he got the chance he broke for second and stole 2nd safely on a very close call and Atkins delivered the Rockies first walk-off of the season with a single up the middle.
Rockies also traded away one of their minor league SS for Frank Thomas from the Blue Jays. |

An AAA shortstop for a Hall of Famer? Dang, how'd you pull that off?

No idea Phil, lol. I was browsing through my trade options and saw the interest and they accepted.
I guess maybe because in this game Eckstein in Toronto retires at seasons end so they saw potential in signing a future SS. |

Phil, I've traded twice with the Blue Jays so far and we aren't even through the 3rd week of April, as you see at the top I acquired Halladay before Spring Training, I got him for Matt Holiday who's replacement in the field came in his back-up Ryan Spilborghs who's been great filling him for him to start the season.
Also, here's a look at my pitching rotation;
Roy Halladay Jeff Francis Aaron Cook Kip Wells Franklin Morales
My bullpen;
Mark Redman Ubaldo Jiménez Josh Towers Taylor Buchholz Luis Vizcaíno Brian Fuentes Manny Corpas |

I've finished for the night so if you want tomorrow I can give you the full lineups, for the DH, no DH and right handers/left handers. Here's my lineup just in the regular though.
W. Taveras T. Tulowitzki R. Spilborghs T. Helton G. Atkins B. Hawpe M. Giles Y. Torrealba

Looks pretty good. The only think I would do is switch the places of Spilborghs and Tulowitzki. But that's just me.
