One thing I hate about Roblox is that free modeled game can get to the front page easily. I want to remove that, since it's annoying. Also, the owner of the place get all the credits while the models' makers get none. (That is why I usually exploit these games.)
A good example of this is "Advanced Town of Robloxia" (http://www.roblox.com/Wheel-Chair-Advanced-Town-of-Robloxia-place?id=142468380)
This is 1dev2's place, but with tons of free models implemented into the place. Then Julius get all the credits?
This is why I want to add an ""Originality" Meter. Each free model comes with an object hidden from the explorer which removes 1 to 5 percent originality depending on it's size. When your place get published to Roblox, an ASP.NET script will automatically calculate the originality percentage.
Games with a certain loss of originality will have penalties. Examples: ~ Games Under 80% Originality cannot reach the Popular Section ~ Games Under 75% Originality cannot reach the Top Earning Section and Popular Section ~ Games Under 60% Originality cannot reach the Top Earning Section, Popular Section, and Top Paid/Rated Section ~ Games that is/is under 55% Originality cannot reach the front page.
This also comes for the same with uncopylocked places. Also, the owner cannot simply just upload the free model to their inventory and have their originality bar reach 100%. Since the hidden object is carried through the model, it will still remove originality.
I do not hate Julius. He's a cool guy and he's trying his best. It's good for him that he succeeded to reach the front page, but I know his game is just full of free models. |

Sorry for bumping again. I think people are not responding because their games are principally made with free models.
And this, will cause controversy. |

| Yeah, sometimes I insert a free model and take a mesh or a piece of code I'm too lazy to remember... like the connect for a touched function. |

Take note that if you remove the free model, it will remove the hidden object that counts the originality.
Also, if you just take a "mesh", it's fine. The model is made like that: ~ Part 1 ~ Part 2 ~ [ Hidden Object ] ~ Part 3 ~~ Mesh inside of Part 3
When you take a single object out of a model, it will not transport the object with it.
And this, will cause controversy. |

Well, at first I thought this'd be a bad idea by the subject. Then I realized this should happen considering Advanced Town of robloxia is literally free models mashed together. 100% Support, make your own games, people!

@sonini/sohini/whatever is your name, I have a bad memory (rhymes :P)
Depend on the size of the model. Any model can remove from one to five percent depending it's size. A rocket launcher would remove one percent minimum.
And this, will cause controversy. |

@North You cannot remove the hidden object. A model without the hidden object (the hidden object contains the creator's information) will be automatically deleted.
And this, will cause controversy. |

What about models made for specific people? That could be a problem. The person would be losing "originality" from people making models voluntarily or with payments for him. This would deter people from getting help from others. And there are an amount of front page games with parts made by other people helping the owner.
On the topic, how would this work for games with more than one developer? High-quality, original games often have more than one developer working on it.
I can also see a way to bypass this, which could be made popular as a free model. If the model object has the hidden object, the people could get away with free models by (manually or by a script) cloning the children of the model into another. If it's inside every object, then a script could make new parts which are exactly identical to the free model. |

@robloxking240
1) There is a way around this. Sending privately the .RBLX model to the one who wants it will fix it.
2) I don't think games with more than one developer would use the same model over and over again on the same place. Also take note that it's impossible to just put a whitelist on free models so only a selected group of people can take it. Again, we are back at number one's fix.
3) Yeah, that bypass may work. But who will go through the hassle to get a single model? People like JuliusColesV2 won't manually take the time (and Julius can't script) to clone all children. People who takes free models usually can't script, or just want to do everything fast.
And this, will cause controversy. |
