The Golden Age of ROBLOX. A time of great thriving for ROBLOX. People made games why? Because they wanted to have a good game. People wanted to make games because they liked making games, not to be a rich ROBLOXian.
Now, ROBLOX has taken the TF2 path. The game used to be about just playing the game and having fun; but now it is just about being rich, or having a ridiculously high amount of posts on the forums.
And then we get into the community. I mean, ROBLOX used to be for lets say a 10-16 audience. Now, little kids are flooding in. The majority of ROBLOX has to be 6-8 years old at best. And what that means for us veterans is this: We have had to watch the ROBLOX community degrade into what it is now.
So today, we remember and honor the Golden Age of ROBLOX. The better community, the better games, the better developers, and the better idea of the game. These are all the things that make the older ROBLOX better.
tl;dr version: ROBLOX was better when it was about playing the game, not being rich. The community was also better. |

| And back then when OD and scams were at an all time high? Very little games were decent enough due to the lack of scripting, or the lack of ability ROBLOX let you have. Jared got him game famous by copying and the more this game is publicized the more little kids jumping into games and on the forums going "REPORTING U KILLED ME WITH WEP IN FIGHTING GAME" or on the forums "BRING ALAN BACK" |

It still is about playing the games. You're a silly goose. You only say that because you want to "fit in" with the players who joined in 2008. Well, guess what. I joined in 2008 and 2010 is much better.

I agree with this.
For me the 'golden age' was from late 2008 to mid-2009, with the main events I remember fondly being the Yorick Halloween quest and the Worlds of Wood contest. It was around the time the hatsplosion first started, so the hats and catalog items were still high-quality and there weren't too many hats. This was also around the time bevels were introduced and gear was barely beginning to be developed, still being a new thing.
Oh my, things were so much nicer back then... although that's probably just the blissful haze of nostalgia clouding us all. Oh well - bring on the nostalgia! |

| 2011 was worse than now, OP. In my opinion, at least. |

| They were only high quality because of comparison. If you look at them now our hats are much better. |

i originally joined in 2011 on my first account.
I prefer it more probably because it was more simple. And most likely the nostalgia.. |

| I think the majority is usually 10-13 year old at this time. |
