So, people always talk about the golden days of ROBLOX. Some say it's 2009. Some say 2011, some 2012. But honestly, it all just comes down to when you had the greatest memories with the greatest friends. And that right there is why being from so far back is pretty bad.
In all my 7 or so years of ROBLOX, I made some pretty amazing friends. We would always hang out and do stuff, and no matter what it was we always had fun. However, over time, a lot of my friends have moved on from this game and onto other games, including the game of life. I won't lie, I still have some friends from way back when who are somewhat active, but we hardly ever talk and never do anything.
So being this old, account-wise, means I've endured the loss of great people. I was one of the only ones who could stick it out this long despite my loss of interest, which eventually gets rekindled because this game is so damn addicting. I can truly say I really miss my friends and all our good times, but all I can do is move on, and hope to make new friends who I can talk to a lot and play some cool games with.
As a side note, to all those other oldies out there speaking about the 'Golden Age', you have to realize it was only golden because most of your friends have stopped playing and it's just not the same for you as it is with newer players who have awesome friends.
-To anyone who actually read this, thank you for taking the time to do so.
-To anyone who doesn't want to, I know how you work; tl;dr version: It sucks because all of our greatest friends have quit.

| True in a way, we do lose friends, however I try not to get to close to people here. I don't use ROBLOX to make friends so this isn't really a problem for me personally. |

Personally, I prefer to have friends when I go to play a game or something. Because most of these games just aren't that fun without people to have fun with ya know? Like Apoc. Rising for example; I think you absolutely need friends for that one. Otherwise you're basically target practice for grouped people lol.

A literally lost a best friend this week.
I plan on getting a lot of friends to put on my list before the friends and followers update. |

@YutterBomb, I don't really play games here anymore, the only game I play is Fencing by SML and I can happily play that knowing no one, I don't really like talking in games anyway.
I haven't actually played a game in weeks though, I usually pop in here and there just to lurk ATR for a while. |

| I did join back in 2011, I get where your coming from and all. I actually just had a best friend quit yesterday we have been through a lot and it's hard to have someone so close to you on this game just quit never to talk to again. My first friend on ROBLOX still plays every now and then I believe haven't talk to him in a while and it's really hard. I always think about the game we met on and I wish i could play it again sadly I don't remember the name. It was a war tycoon, you built your base and could buy guns along the way attacking others straight across. |

@Dotty, Yeah it sucks pretty bad. I've probably lost close to 6 or 7 over all my years.
@USMC, That's exactly how I was very recently until I 'officially' became active again.

@Agent, That's why I included a nice little version for you at the bottom. :)

| That isn't a problem if you don't make any friends on ROBLOX, or friend them on Steam as well. |

I don't know. I think that the loss of friendships over the years plays a part in a general feeling of decline; but for me it seems like the idea of the 'golden age' comes from isolation from the website and features itself. Friends come and go, and hopefully you make new friends so that there is a turnover of friendships that keeps you constantly from despairing as a loner - but when the site and the game itself changes, there's no going back. Things seem alien and odd, and they don't go back to 'normal', instead just continuing to change until the whole community seems completely different to the one that you used to know - and a lack of old friends probably would only make that worse.
sigh. |

My "golden age" was 2010. I never used my 2008 account, and my current account was pretty inactive through the rest of 09, 2010 is when I met 2 of my coolest friends. Unfortunately, they both moved on and left me here, but back in 09 I joined a clan which I thought nothing of it until around 2012 when I started to make close relations with the other people in that clan. So I guess I had another "golden age" in late 2012 and throughout 2013. I made many friends in that clan, many of them quit, but many of them still play to this day. I have a feeling I'm working my way up to another "golden age" with these friends again aswell. But really, a "golden age" is any time you spend with the people you like to spend time with.

I agree. The golden age is all about nostalgia. However, this nostalgia isn't so good to keep, as you've lost several best friends. |

I agree so much. My first account was in 2008 (99990999 is my username). It really aggrivates me when people talk about "The golden ages" and "Old Roblox being awesome"...
Because it's not. 2013 was my favorite year. |

Give this man a cookie!
My best friends are luckily still active today, but we actually Skype eachother now. Though, they have been unactive alot... But one of them can't install ROBLOX, and is rarely active. yet I still remember the first day we met...
I found even another best friend though yay

I have to admit(like no else does), I started ROBLOX, no sooner on acts, just 2013. Through that time I made over 200 friends and now I have like 20. Enough spam.
I have this one friend that I met in 2010 on a different game that has been shut down. He plays ROBLOX now. c: |
