| A sore throat can also be an early symptom of Ebola. I'm actually scared now. |

| But, I think I'm okay. The sore throat is not that bad. It doesn't even bother me and when I swallow, I doesn't even hurt. |

| No, but I'm from New York and we recently got our first Ebola victim and now, there may be a 5 year old kid with Ebola in NY. |

| You do realize that you can get Ebola by body fluids, right? That means if someone sneezes, coughs, sweat, etc and you touch them, you can get Ebola. The government make it sounds like Ebola is hard to get, but its actually pretty easy. |

I believe it takes like 2 weeks for Ebola symptoms to actually occur.

(also it cannot spread until you have symptoms)

| @death You are correct, but the symptoms usually occur within a week. |

Whether this eases your fear or makes it worse, in all likelihood you probably would be classified as common cold or possibly flu. There is 1 or maybe 2 cases of Ebola in New York, I doubt that in a city of millions that you came into contact with the person.
It might not even sickness related, you could have just strained your throat somehow. |

| @eb Yeah, I think I'm fine. I'm pretty sure my throat hurts due to playing the Mellophone and French Horn a lot recently. Also, I did yell a few times this week which could have strained my throat. |

You do know you can't get it through the air, right? You actually have to touch them with like a wound with another wound.
If you cut your finger, and you touch a wound on their arm where that cut is, that's how you get it.
However, there are hardly any cases of Ebola, and you can't just sneeze on someone and say "HA YOU HAVE EBOLA"
It's not like a cold. You actually have to touch body fluids with body fluids. It has to get into your bloodstream. |

Never said I have Ebola. I just said that I'm scared because there is already 1 case of Ebola in NY and there could be another one.
@Bens When did I ever say that Ebola is airborne? You can get Ebola by blood and body fluids. That means, you can get Ebola from saliva, sweat, tears (this is true), mucus, vomit, urine, semen, etc. So, if I touch someone who just sneezed or coughed in their hand and I touch my eyes, nose, mouth, etc (everyone does this), I can get Ebola if they have the symptoms. |
