Free the people. Determination rushes over you as you rush over the ground, feet flying. You mustn't waste time; it is so precious.
You slow down for a few precious moments to think out your route. You could either leave left or right: Left being a marshy area, and right being more of a rocky area. You can't go forward anymore because there's a rock "wall." |

Doing some quick thinking, I decide to go to the right, where my feet should have more stable footing from the hard ground.

You head right, wasting no time. Indeed, you have solid ground beneath you, but soon enough, there is water trickling down small cracks in the rock. You hear the crescendoing roar of a waterfall in the close distance, and indents in the rocks are slippery with moisture. Do you continue, anyways? You've come quite a ways from where you turned right.

There is no time to waste, and turning back now would waste too much time. I will continue forward along this path.

You continue forward, forced to have more careful footing in the lower parts, where there's more puddles and opportunities to easily lose your footing. Not too long after the puddles began to become bigger, you come across the waterfall. It's roughly six feet across, probably too far to try and jump across. You need to go across, some way or another.

I will attempt to find a natural bridge, or even a fallen tree, that I can use to get across this obstacle.

There are rocks jutting out in various places, where the falls part ways where rocks are too tall for it to envelop. If your balance was kept well enough, you could jump across on those.

I have not been called the Duelist for only brute strength, and it is far too late to turn back now. Taking careful leaps, I will get to get across these falls, or die trying.

Luckily, you live. Your careful leaps cost you a bit of momentum, leading you to slip once or twice on the damp rocks, but you don't fall. On the other side of the falls, it's less damp. You walk for a bit, and finally, it's not so wet. There's some moss growing on rocks near you that could help dry your damp shoes. Do you take the time to do so, or continue on with wet feet?

It's only a moment, so I take a couple of minutes to dry my shoes so that I will not slip on the road ahead.

Once your shoes are dry, or as dry as they'll get for now, you continue on your travels. You think you can see the distant lights of the castle's torches far, far away, but this isn't much of a surprise, as you're at a fairly high elevation. The excitement of being close enough to see it, although it's far away, makes your feet itch to run.

This is an important moment, and I cannot miss it. I will set out at a light jog, at least until I am sure I can run with speed without slipping with the almost-dry shoes.
