"there was a thread that was talking about this a few months back"
correct, I was op ;)
also there had to be a skateboard a few feet below it because if we're using "quantum locking" there has to be magnets below

also the hoverboard would have to be maintained at a low temperature which is the hard part
there was a better idea, where instead of a skateboard below there are entire railways and the hoverboard is a train
this is called a maglov train, and because there's very little resistance (in theory) they would be able to go to extremely fast

| Of course, the catch is that it only works on copper surfaces. |

| It's not a true Hoverboard, just a bunch of magnets on a piece of plastic that levitates off a metal floor. |

| Still, it's a step in the right direction. It just needs to be improved before we reach 2015. |

this is a good idea of what it would be; the only difference is that it would need either a) a skateboard beneath it that is the opposite charge of the skateboard or b) highways specifically designed for hover travel
and some more stuff i can't remember but cross's thread goes into detail about it
"The Sauza so malo...", and then she said "You need to grow up." |

Or you could do the really derpy way which is to have enough air propulsion to keep a human above ground
