This pretty much sums up what I believe on Canadians who try hard to sound so unAmerican

Ugh. We should let Quebec take over. They should assimilate us into speaking French and having their weird accents.

Oh, and the biggest and best cultural difference?

Canadians use the right unit systems for temperature, distance, etc. Americans use the wrong one. Now, this is actually a big difference when you think about it. Imagine you go travelling abroad and all the other people understand the right system (metric system). If you were an American, you'd pretty much say "how much inches is ur peepee" and they'd think you're an idiot. If you were a Canadian, you'd say "how much cm is ur peepee" and you would have a normal conversation. Oh, and temperature too. The Americans would say "it is whatever degrees fahrenheit" and the Canadians would say "it is whatever degrees celsius". The foreign person would not understand the American and know right away the American's an idiot for using the wrong system of measurement units.

Has Canada ever put men on the moon using the metric system?

Case closed.

"Has Canada ever put men on the moon using the metric system?

Case closed."

No, but many countries have used the right system to get things into outerspace. We just can't use the wrong system because it will cause problems and it will take longer to use.

And I'm pretty sure you just used six different fallacies in that one statement. That's kind of sad...

Congratulation, I declare your argument the biggest circlejerk argument of 2014... seriously, look at Reddit. Every thread has like 25 comments saying something along those lines. I've heard it too many times before. Just because your country put a couple of men on the moon many, many decades ago, doesn't mean it's somehow more intelligent or better than mine? That's really the stupidest argument I've come across in a long time... just stop. For the sake of your own people. Save America from that embarrassment by not saying it.

"basing a countries intelligence based on a unit of measure is unfair."

I'm saying that the right system is a more intelligent system, not that every country that uses the right system is smarter than the USA. Learn reading comprehension.

I posted the most overused troll sounding statement I could think of because I thought you were trolling in your first post.

If you were actually being serious.....bless your heart.

What are you talking about, trolling?

It is factually the biggest cultural difference. Seriously, if you go anywhere travelling in the world as a Canadian, everyone will think you're American. Until you use the right system, then they know you're a Canadian. They can tell the difference by just this.

The overuse of peepee and believing people would think of Americans as idiots for such.

And you want to accuse me of using fallacies...lol, bless your poor heart.

Enough with these threads already. (And yes, I've already said it in another thread)

This America vs Canada stuff is full of crap. In some aspects, Canada is better than the US and in other aspects the US is better than Canada.

All in all, I don't think one is better than the other.

No, but using the wrong system when you should be using the right one is idiotic.

No.

I repeat, this has nothing to do about who's better, it's about dispelling the supposed "cultural differences" that don't actually exist between Canada and America.

Feel free to stop posting to this thread.

Yes, because the differences in the measurement systems we use totally do not exist. Nope. Totally not.

"You are so stupid1!!"

Right back at you, oh wise and all knowing perfect Canadian Sinii, who is not a total waste of functioning organs.

"HURR DURR DIFFERENT MEASURES XDDDD"

Right, because you can differentiate between a Canadian and an American just by looking at them because one uses inches and the other eats whale blubber.

Canadians are Americans, you wear our clothes, watch our movies, use our websites, it's a wonder why we haven't formally annexed you yet.

Seriously, test it out yourself. Go travelling to some foreign country. Then use the metric system. The locals will really be like, "Oh, you're a Canadian?" It actually works, believe it or not.

Lol, 0z0ne? Someone's got some issues ^_^

I love how measurement is the only thing you could name that remotely distinguishes Canadians and Americans, even though it's definitely not as apparent as you think it is.

A Canadian is travelling in a foreign country as a tourist.

Local: *thinks the Canadian is an American based on accent and appearance*
Canadian: Hey, can I have directions?
Local: Sure, 2 km that way and then go 500 m that way.
Canadian: Thank you! See you!
Local: Wait, you know what I meant? You're a Canadian?

An American is travelling in a foreign country as a tourist.

Local: *thinks the American is an American based on accent and appearance*
American: Hey, can I have directions.
Local: Sure, 2 km that way and then go 500 m that way.
American: Uh... what? Miles please?
Local: Don't know. Get a taxi or Google it or something... sorry.
