I seriously can't find a reason why.
"To inform the reader" Nobody cares
"To persuade the reader" Nobody cares
"To argue a point" NOBODY. CARES. |

The real reason is to bore the author to death.
I know you want what's on my mind, I know you like what's on my mind, I know it eats you up inside! I know, you know, you know, you know! |

No one really reads it either. The teachers lie they don't read it they laugh and act they are reading ur essay, but instead they are laughing wid mischief on how stupid you were to get tricked and write them! |

@Joe Not today. But I only just now decided to think about why we have to write them. |

Ok, so nobody can explain why we write essays.
I don't even have to write an essay on this to prove that essays are a waste of time. |

| If you ever want to be taken seriously as a journalist/writer/anyone who has to write a report on their findings (which is quite often unless you do manual labor for a living) you are going to need to effectively convey your points on topics you are knowledgeable about and establish a coherent line of reasoning. Although the way English is taught can be arguably flawed, essays aren't going to disappear because of this. |

@lion The thing is, very few people actually care about what you have to say. All they want is to be entertained. |

all of you guys are being huge idiots
stop being so dense
teachers tell you to write essays because they need to confirm that you have learned stuff, because students don't usually remember.
@supahboshi64
oh my god you are an idiot
nobody would ACTUALLY do that

| We write essays in order to better our writing skills in a working environment to also prepare us for future careers in which we may have to regularly type up reports and investigations in an essay format. We use New Roman Times, 12pt, double line spacing to clarify what is typed in a regular font that can be read in any language properly and have a professional look to it. Written essays are mainly used to judge one's writing skills based on their analytical response to a topic given by an instructor, which usually has some significance to growing up or a current issue. Essays can also be used as far as to say you get a job or not. Therefore, it is very important to be good at writing essays. |

Sooner or later an Essay becomes a story.
That story evolves into p!o$r$n^o$g)r$a(p*h#i@c#s for everyone to read.

@shock Well school in general is sorta important. It helps develop a social life and basic manners and such. But this whole "trying is all that matters" crap is seriously rediculous in school. |
