| they are simply to expose students to more subjects. in some people's cases, they enjoy music or art. in others (such as yours), they don't. regardless, they are only required until high school, so it's not a very long time. |

It definitely helps stand out to a college.
Some schools require them to keep the student body diverse.
Some colleges require them on transcripts for the same reason.
Some arts have been proven to be supportive of creative and intelligent thought. |

I only advocate music & art classes where the instructor is eccentric, jumps on the desk and makes you question reality and eventually gets indefinitely suspended for being a goofball with the children
everything else is bleh |

Dead Poet Society ftw.
Anyway, the idea is to get you to think. That's why you have those classes. |

| Because this could be a future job too and it's culture, you are learning about the culture of your countries or other countries then. |

| Should be a GCSE and A-level option, then go onto study at university if you need to. |

| Because it supports creative thinking and imagination. Those are two very good things to have for your future career. If you don't like it, don't take those courses in high school. It's as simple as that. |

| Hey, I was essentially forced to do certain subjects at GCSE such as Useless Product Design and Useless Drama. Needless to say, I did poorly in them (they are my two Bs) while my other subjects were mostly A*s with the exception of Further Maths (A) and Additional Maths (C) |

I mainly hate these two classes for a few reasons. Music isn't that bad but I just find it stressful because our teacher has too high standards for actual instruments when we just finished learning the recorder. But art is the class that actually bothers me, a few reasons why I hate it are:
1. I am absolutely horrible at art and even if I try my best I get C's, I mean I am not good at art but at least I try I am not going to be some great artist to cut me some slack here.
2. Three words. Mean. Art. Teacher. Well the first day of school went like this: We eased into our seats and of course it's the first day so we talk. She walks in pissed off and starts yelling at us that we are the worst class in Seventh grade and we are worse then 7C and we are allowed to talk but if we talk louder then a radio she puts on then we are talking too loud. She then puts on a radio and it is at the sound of maybe a pin dropping. That is more torture then just telling us we can't talk because it's like saying "You can eat a chocolate but you have to eat it with licking very slowly." Then at the end of the day she yells "WHO WANTS A DETENTION ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL" and I thought it was a warning but guess not because she kept us in 10 minutes after the bell ring, and by us I mean the whole class :/ It always seems like the teachers of the arts are so pissed off because they weren't successful with their choice in life and decide to take it out on kids in school.
3. Art marks. Do you know how your parents say they don't care about your art marks when you complain about it. It just makes me feel stressed because I don't know what to do during art, when I try to do art I get bad marks. When I don't I sit in boredom doing nothing. That is why I call this a useless class. |

| Collective punishment of students in school should be outlawed. It is unethical and unfair towards those who weren't doing any wrong. |
