Was a pretty nasty Easter break blizzard a few years ago. I was on a ski trip up to Lake Tahoe and the blizzard went into full effect half an hour into my cross country ski run. I could still see pretty well so I went on a few black diamond hills for the fresh powder.
I then was delayed from my trip from Tahoe back to the Bay Area by about 6 hours. |

Yeah, I think Californian's deal with the least severe weather.
Unless you call drought's severe..... Cuz I am currently going through one of the worst droughts in California history. |

The Texas drought of late 2010-mid 2013 was baaaaaaaaad... Especially the summer of 2011, where we had 90+ days of 100+ degree weather as well as multiple fires including the Bastrop fire just outside of Austin, the largest fire in Texas history
Tropical Storm Hermine crapping 15 inches of rain in a day on us back in September 2010 began a drought that ended with the Halloween floods crapping another 13 inches of rain in 4 hours on us in October 2013 |

Probably the worst I've been through (at least what I can remember), is the derecho we had back in 2012 (a video of it found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBoIESuUI3w), however the video doesn't look even a quarter as bad as what it really was.
The clouds carried an ominous green tint with it, looked like a tornado was coming. There was a swing bench thing that collapsed and was thrown about in my backyard, which could have easily went through a window. My dad and some neighbors went out to grab it, and that turned out to be a huge threat because of the massive amounts of lightning. He was soaked for the five minutes or so he was out there.
Then we saw, no joke, a trampoline roll sideways like a wheel, and rolled up and over a fence, which is about 5/5.5 feet tall.
Our power was knocked out all that night, and most of the next one. We were supposed to not have power for nearly a week, but it came back on much quicker than expected. For the time being, I stayed at my brother's house the night we got our power back.
But yeah, that was pretty bad. And even worse, none of us saw it coming until it was at our doorstep. The only notice we got was me looking for my dog and hearing some thunder in the distance, then turning it to TWC 15 minutes before it started. |

or a couple years back when i didn't have school for almost 2 weeks because of 1000 inches of ice and snow |

We actually just missed out on hail literally a week ago TODAY - no joke, we missed it by probably a fraction of a mile - just out of nowhere.
This summer was rather quiet for us really in terms of severe storms.
But yeah, severe weather, whether summer or winter storms (last winter was awful, yet good for getting out of school, but awful again because we missed too many days), Ohio has it all. This winter is supposed to be even worse.
Hurricane Ike was bad too, I didn't expect that either. We stopped because a tree blocked a road, and turned left to turn around. After turning left and beginning to back up, another tree toppled down to the left of us. Oh my lord it was hell. We missed school for freaking 3 days that week. |

3 days? try having your entire city trashed, buildings destroyed, 100 deaths, no power, groceries, food, water, gasoline or any other resources for a month, every single tree in your yard knocked down, and all the shingles on your roof missing
Hurricane Ike was definitely short of hell for you |

@Rune Not to mention y'all's evacuation from Ike (and in fact, Rita too) was like 48-72 hours long just to get to Austin, San Antonio, or Dallas too |

| The evacuation got so bad that they told people to stop about half a week before the hurricane and that it would be safer to stay and prepare for the hurricane at home or they would be caught days later during the hurricane in their car on the road |

This is Ohio - we're not supposed to have hurricanes. |

I've been through Hurricanes..
Charlie, Francis, Jean in 2004 + Tropical Storm Ivan and a bunch more tropical storms and horrible weather in Florida.
I've been through a Tornado..
Florida Tornados are actually very dangerous because they are "Rain Wrapped" which makes them stealthy despite their low power. |
