This forum is about the USAUA regiments and their duties. The regiments applied to this will be: Cavalry, Marines, Rangers, and Balloon Corps. There will be one or two main duties for each regiment and may be a few smaller ones as well.
1. Cavalry
Cavalry's main duty in battle, especially in a large battle such as a raid or practice raid, is to deliver the final blow to the enemy. This is most effective in a line battle.
While the infantry, and special infantry deals with the enemy on foot, the highest ranking cavalry officer (Horseman Master and above) will organize his men into one of the two formations:
Either a simple, straight line. With the highest ranks in the center and the lowest on the edge.
Or a wedge, with the same structure of rank only the formation should look like this: ^
Then when the commander thinks the time is right, he will give the order to charge.
The other duty of Cavalry, is that of a police force. If anyone surrenders, cavalry will be there to bring the surrendered to jail. Also, if given the order, cavalry may have to capture a high rank on the opposing team.
Cavalry's regimental HQ will always consist of a Jail, and a stable on the side.
2.Marines
Marines main duty in the battle is to assault and bombard the enemy from the sea.
There are various orders the Captain may give for this:
a. All hands below deck, All crew will be at the ready below deck b. Prepare cannons, This is when the men make ready to fire (The Captain will also give the order to fire. c.Split deck, this is where half the crew goes below deck and the others stay above. d. Prepare fire, both sections of men will prepare to fire a volley of musket and Cannon e. Fire, all units will fire at once
Marines will always reload on command (Wait for the CO to say Reload.)
Marines second duty will be to stop a retreat, because of there access to the ocean, they can easily set up a position in the rear, when the enemy tries to route, the Marines will quickly mop them up.
3.Rangers
Rangers are a partisan unit, this means they will perform separate and special missions that the infantry would not normally do. The Rangers' main goal is to flank the enemy and snipe them from under cover, this breaks the enemies' morale very successfully.
The Rangers are a simple regiment, but it is an important one.
4. Lastly, Balloon Corps, their duty is to provide information. While both teams are advancing on each other, the Balloon Corps will quickly go to where the enemy is currently located, and deliver that information back to a HR/HC using /pm.
If one of the men dies, the other is to abort the mission and return to base as quickly as possible. Otherwise, the balloon will be lost, there will not be a regen button for it.
Perform these tasks to the best of your ability, if you have any questions, message me, your Regimental Commander, or leave it in the comments. |
