Where is Hanley Ramirez going to go? The Dodgers have stated that they are most likely going to be starting Cuban Erisbel Arruebarrena at short next year.
Hanley is going into his age 31 season, with injuries plaguing his career since 2011. With the Dodgers he had a stat line of .299/.368/.506 and was voted 8th in the MVP voting in 2013. |

| There is a certain team in NY that has a vacant SS spot and LOVES to pay players that are in their 30s |

Zc,
Tigers are getting Iglesias back. White Sox have Alexei Ramirez. Alcides Escobar had a solid season with the Royals, and the Royals can't spend the blockbuster free agents. I don't see Minnesota spending this off season either.
The only AL Central team that needs a shortstop is the Indians. since they do have a hole at shortstop. After trading Asdrubal Cabrera the Indians haven't gotten much from Jose Ramirez. Though he is only 22 and a switch hitter with potential. |

Muffin,
You really think Brian Cashman would be stupid enough to overpay another injury prone 30+ former all-star? Come on, he isn't THAT brain dead.
But for real, the Yankees have a lot of holes in their lineup. They should go after him. |

The Yankees.
They should be able to move around Alex Rodriguez and Martin Prado around the left side of the infield. Prado is stuck with the Yankees for two more seasons.
This is how everything works out for the Yankees if they do not sign anymore position players.
C: McCann 1B: Teixeira 2B: Solarte 3B: Prado SS: Could be Rodriguez... RF: Gardner CF: Ellsbury LF: *Free Agent* (Ichiro is a free agent) |

| Colby Rasmus has to find a home, the Blue Jays probably won't re-sign him. |

Oh yeah, he was in that TERRIBLE deal to get Chase Headley.
Even worse for the Yankees, because Solarte was their best infielder. |

Brendan Ryan is now your shortstop/second baseman...
I mean his fielding is fantastic, but he can't hit for his life. |

Headley is gone. Free agent. Unless you really want to sign him......
There is no doubt the Yankees kinda HAVE to sign somebody. Especially since their farm system isn't really producing. And Ichiro probably wants to play on a playoff contender. |

| You don't think they're a playoff contender next season? What's your opinion on the AL East, how tough of a division do you think it is Donny? |

Even if the Yankees go all out this hot stove. They still have problems with players like McCann, Teixeira, and Ellsbury who all have a knack of getting injured.
On the pitching side. We don't know how Tanaka will come back from injury. CC's career as a star pitcher is done, I see his ERA staying in the 4.00s for the rest of his career. Kuroda is retiring. The bullpen needs some more pieces.
Overall, big spending on this Yankee club won't help very much. |
