(If you disagree with this idea before reading and you have come just to comment, then at least read my counter arguments below)
I think that when someone starts a thread, they should be able to delete/archive another user's comment if they wish. There are a few good reasons for this. It's very annoying when a person starts a thread, and someone else comes along and completely steers the thread away from the original subject of the post or when someone asks a legitimate question and the first person who posts just happens to be an arrogant player who makes fun of them for not knowing. I don't need to give examples. You've all seen it happen. People should be able to delete comments for the sake of their own threads not getting trolled or steered off topic before they get the answers they're looking for.
Believe it or not a good majority of the time, the first person to comment on a thread has a lot of influence in the way a thread conversation is going to go. Especially if that person is a well known active forumer. Of course once in a while you get those good guys who don't even read everyone's comments and just replies directly to the original topic. That doesn't always happen though.
COUNTER ARGUMENTS
"If a bad comment gets deleted, then it can't get reviewed by a mod" Well if the thread poster reports the comment before he/she deletes it, I imagine that the comment gets sent in with the report and the mods don't have to check the thread out directly. HOWEVER, if that is not true, then it wouldn't be a far stretch for Roblox to make it so that when a mod views a thread, that they still see deleted comments but outlined with red or something.
"People would abuse it" Come on, that's one of the dullest reasons to use for declining an update like this. Don't post something on someone's thread if it's going to get deleted for being off topic or trolly. If someone really made a thread JUST to delete people's comments, well I don't think many people would really post on his/her threads after they find out he's just deleting comments for fun.
"Only moderators should ever have the power to delete comments" I disagree completely. People have the power to ban players from their own games. They should be able to delete people's comments in their own threads. |

| But what if someone who doesn't like me posts a thread I replied on? They can just delete my replies. |

If someone gets mad at me, and I am winning the argument, they can just delete my posts to make it look like he's winning.
No support.

@Verodoxys If you know someone doesn't like you, then just avoid the situation and don't post on their thread in the first place.
@CHEEZE2011 You post an idea to get feedback. If the idea gets shotdown, then deleting replies won't do any good, Because it was still a bad idea.
@Tonitrua I would suggest not arguing with the thread owner. Online arguments are pointless anyhow. It's like religion vs science. Neither side will ever back down and accept defeat. |

I still don't want people to be able to delete my replies whenever they please. |

| If we go to global chat you will see that debating there is so damn intense that deleting posts would effectivly be the end of the forum because it would be trashed with "@ "insert thread name here" " Posts. |

| @sonihi Hmm. I don't ever go on global chat so I guess it would be pretty bad for them. |

| Oh, and you could've deleted any reply that said 'no support'. |

Doing this is kind of like making YouTube comments approval only on a tutorial. You question the credibility, since the poster has the power to effectively block all negative feedback.
