Goaltenders are too expendable They're always been replaced, and it seems like they have the most turnover ratio of any other netminder in any sport
Like this Darcy Kuemper and how he quickly took Backstrom's job Or Anton Khudobin getting talk from fans about becoming the starter after playing well in absence of Cam Ward, who I understand has been one of the best goaltenders in the NHL for most of his career
And I'm pretty sure the Oilers have a new goalie every single year so there's that |

Even though I like hockey, my gripe is that it's too fast and it makes big moments seem less significant and the pace just feels odd.
Like on most goals you get little sense of a build up compared to soccer. |

"Like this Darcy Kuemper and how he quickly took Backstrom's job"
Bäckström is old and injury-prone. Kuemper would still be a third string goalie if it weren't for Minnesota's top two goalies always being injured.
"Or Anton Khudobin getting talk from fans about becoming the starter after playing well in absence of Cam Ward, who I understand has been one of the best goaltenders in the NHL for most of his career"
Not only is Khudobin not going to be the starter, but Cam Ward hasn't been one of the best goaltenders for any part of his career. I understand that he won the MVP award in the 2006 Finals but he didn't even come close to deserving it. He allowed at least four goals in three games in that series.
"And I'm pretty sure the Oilers have a new goalie every single year so there's that"
This is because our ECHL-level defense makes our goalies look bad. I understand that our past few goalies before Scrivens and Fasth have actually been quite bad (Jeff Deslauriers was our starter at one point), but goaltending isn't our problem at all. Before 2007, we were just like any other NHL team with goalies. |

Most OT or SO or PP goals have build up. 2 on 1s as well. |

Dubnyk sucked also, he went to the predators who has a pretty good defense and allowed like 6 goals in 2 games.
