| Objective-C is a profound programming language which I do not see is a frequent topic throughout ROBLOX. But I am here asking for your opinions. What do you guys think of it? |

| Well C is an old programming language close to the hardware, objective c is c but object oriented and with a few updates and changes to some syntax and C++ is C but updated to be much better in almost every aspect so if you like programming in something object oriented by all means use objective c but C++ is good. That was a terrible run on sentence but I'm too lazy to be good at english. Basically use whatever programming language you like, |

| I'm not a C/C++ expert, but Objective-C doesn't at all strike me as "profound". I don't see the need for so much abstraction--it's almost too meta... Not to mention that the syntax is just completely weird. |

OBJ-C is a calling for Apple developpers. Most people around here isn't one. There probably isn't one at all ..

| I see what you're implying, so allow me to rephrase. Objective-C is, in my opinion, a 'unique' programming language. Mostly due to how there are limitations to the implementations of the language to certain Operating Systems. That basically makes restrictions to most, thus enabling certain people to utilize the language. |

| Why would you learn Objective-C if you're not an Apple developer? |

| Objective-C is the offspring of C and Smalltalk and iirc was first used heavily by NeXT, which left its legacy on OS X and iOS. As far as programming language choice goes, if you're not an Apple developer then there are plenty of more attractive options besides Objective-C. |

Apple sucks, their hardware and technology is outdated and overpriced when it's released, most of the features are copied from other devices, it's manufacturers labor in Taiwanese factories with sub-human conditions and high suicide rates, and not to mention it's userbase.
Oh, and it's expensive to fix. |

| Swift. Is it a notable language? I know it has its similarities between Ruby and Python, but I have not really considered employing it into my work. |

| Skimming over some articles, the syntax appears to be much friendlier (and less ugly than Objective-C), and it's got more built-in safety checks. Chances are it'll be a hit, as with anything else Apple releases these days.. |

Has anybody looked at the new blackberry phones? Their operating system runs native off C++, plus their apps have full C++ support along with the ability to run most android apps, compile html5 as an app, and a pile of other languages.
C++ is where the future needs to be. |

I thought us programmers look at things at an unbiased way. I guess not. Just look at how many platforms their app engine offers: https://developer.blackberry(commercial website)

I know this is probably not the best source for any statistics but look at the chart. http://bgr.com/2014/07/31/android-vs-ios-vs-windows-phone-vs-blackberry/
Blackberry is not as popular compared to the android and apple. IMHO, developing for mobile is already a good joke, but if that is what someone wants to do, they will most likely target the most used phones. In this case Android and Apple. |

| BlackBerry suits my smartphone needs. Just a built in calculator, room for a couple of puzzle games, and the ability to make and receive calls. That's all I need. |
