A few years ago, I had depression for 5 years. I beat it using a really simple mind trick. In fact, it's very simple, contrary to what most people think. So basically depression is in fact your mind's fault. So when there is a fault, you must fix it. So what you must do is first of all, I know it's hard, but you gotta think about the good stuff. Not all the sad, emotic stuff, but the good stuff. Think about stuff you like. Like cats ? Like bacon ? Think about them in a positive way ! When you go to sleep, think about all the positive stuff, because sleep at night is the best time to change your mind. You must think about the positive stuff before going to sleep, and try to keep them until you fall asleep. When you wake up, wake up in a good mood, think of a happy music, like the ones in movies, and dance around making pancakes like a true british man. It's hard at the beginning, but when you continue tricking your mind that you are happy, it will finally surrender and accept your hapiness.
