So in your opinion, what elements make the best apocalypse game? The more details/ideas the better!

Most important element is it not being an apocalypse game because you'll never beat apoc rising.

@kodran
Apocalypse Rising isn't that hard to beat. Another different style of gameplay in a post-apoc type game could be more fun than AR.

Any ideas anyone? @Vulnerite, I could easily beat AR if I was a better map builder. I know for sure I could make a better game engine, guns, vehicle, ect. |

Well, considering that the map is massive, that's a TON of guns and vehicles everywhere, so having more detailed map and items would just increase the amount of lag.

I'm thinking just a smoother inventory and game engine. Maybe a few larger towns and less small towns? Possibly some woodlands or marsh?

It would be kinda cool if you could do something like the Skyrim inventory menu where it classifies items and shows the item with it's weight and other stuff.

Google search images of "skyrim xbox inventory" and it should be the first two images that I'm talking about.

Fallout-style it. After the apocalypse, there wasn't much left. The survivors went their separate ways and made factions and forts all across the province. Supplies are scarce, and everyone is scrounging all they can to survive. Aside from that, there are mutations and supernatural things out there affected by the infection. It isn't over though, breathing in the radiation from them, or getting their bacteria getting in your bloodstream can turn you into one. You can't trust anybody.

You can also something similar to what is portrayed in a book called Ashfall, where a large volcanic eruption occurs and sky with ash, completely blocking out the sun, meaning that no vegetation can grow. Animals either die or migrate away. Food is extremely scarce, certain areas are filled with lava, visibility is pretty poor.
