[Note: Anyone from the first two threads is welcome to rejoin. Just be sure to repost your char sheet, or make a new one.]
#1: Setting
#2: Plot
#3: Rules
#4: About the Guide.
#5: Roles
#6: Character Sheet
-------------------------------------------------------------
Setting:
Jeweled Worlds takes place in a universe, in which many different planets exist.
Each planet is Fantasy themed, and each one has it's own style of fantasy.
Each of the planets are held together by a gemstone which gives life to it's own particular planet.
This RP takes place on the world of Garrindel.
As the name of the RP suggests, Garrindel is given life by the Ruby.
Garrindel has a "Sword and Sorcery" setting. -------------------------------------------------------------
PLOT:
In the world of Garrindel, Magic-Users rule the world with an iron fist. Looking down upon the non-magical folk, they invoke fear and wrath upon those that try to stand in their way.
All Magic-Users believe themselves to be greater than non-magical folk, as it is in their blood, and they have no problem flaunting it.
At one time, a single Brock known as Carith the Mage-Slayer had stood in their way. Now he has friends.
Upon learning of Lorelei's location, Carith, along with his newfound comrades, all travel to the Ivory Tower, hoping to get inside and rescue Lorelei.
However, rumors say that the "Magical Researcher", a psychotic Magus obsessed with testing on people, is somewhere inside the tower. The group will have to proceed with caution inside.
What's more, the Two-Tailed Comet has almost reached Garrindel, and the door to the Ruby of Garrindel's resting place will soon be opened. With so little time, and so much to do, the group must work quickly, and must keep going, as time is of the utmost essence.
The Seal of the Ruby will soon be placed on the palm of one person, and the race to find him or her will be on.
However, the Bounty Hunters, soldiers, and Magic-Users sent out to capture or kill the companions, will make the journey much harder.
Chaos is about to break loose. And the world will soon be bathed in red.
In more ways than one...
-------------------------------------------------------------
RULES:
There are three very simple sets of rules that players must follow.
#1: Basic Rules.
#2: Character Rules.
#3: Combat Rules. ---------------
BASIC RULES:
1: What I say, goes.
2: "It's not in the rules" is no excuse. See rule 1.
3: If a troll posts, ignore them.
4: If you say you're going to join, you're expected to join. If you decide not to join after you've already stated you would, please inform me in a PM.
5: If you DO join, you are expected to actually Roleplay. And not just sit dormant for five weeks or longer.
6: I control any and all NPCs unless you are given permission by me. Attempting to control one on your own without permission will result in a warning. If you continue to do so, it may result in my asking you to leave the thread.
7: You Roleplay by story. No making up your own lore, your own places, or anything of your own. Your character is from this land and from this world.
8: Story over Rules. If I so decide that you may not take an action, or an action is taken against you so as to progress the story, or benefit it; there will be no arguments. Whatsoever.
9: In no way, do I have to cater to you or your character.
10: Character Knowledge vs Player Knowledge. If players know something about a certain character, object or place, that the characters don't know about, your character cannot suddenly have a great epiphany about said thing. Example, if a character is a noble in disguise who is running from their family due to some kind of dark curse, and the player mentions this in his/her bio; your character may not, under ANY circumstances, make an offhand joke about how maybe they are actually a noble in disguise who is running from their family due to some kind of dark curse. This is an annoying thing that crops up every so often in Roleplays, and I won't tolerate it here. Just because you know, that doesn't mean your character knows. It's not funny, it's stupid.
11: ALL players must make character sheets. No exceptions. This isn't an ISRP. Make a character sheet and wait for it to be accepted if you want to join.
CHARACTER RULES:
#1: All Character Sheets MUST be detailed.
A simple rule. You need to be detailed with your character.
One, two or three sentences does not count as being detailed. Describe your character greatly; describe their appearance, their personality, their bioagraphy, etc. And don't be vague. The first step to making a good and relatable character, is to be detailed. If your character has no effort or detail put into him/her, no one will like them or relate to them.
#2: Characters can die.
Characters can, and probably will, die. If a character dies, that doesn't mean that they are dead forever, or that the player has to leave the thread or create a new character. (Well, unless they want to.)
Characters can be brought back to life through many means.
Character death is only decided by the role of the dice, which I will talk about next. (Note: I have added this feature due to too many Roleplays having little to no consequences for reckless actions.)
#3: Characters are not allowed to come from "mysterious backrounds".
I have seen far too many people make lackluster, half-hearted character sheets, with little to no detail; and then try to use the excuse of "Well, he's mysterious, and I don't wanna reveal anything just yet, so that it'll be a mystery and a big shock when it's revealed!" Yeah no, if you're not going to put detail in your character, and are going for the "mysterious" route, that means I already know what kind of twist you're going to add. The excuse of not wanting to reveal anything "yet" is exactly that; just an excuse from a lazy roleplayer. Mysterious or amnesiac characters are not permitted. Period.
COMBAT RULES:
#1: "Dice".
In order to make combat in Ruby of Garrindel 100% fair, I will once again be using a virtual dice roller to determine the outcomes of actions in combat. When I say "I will be using the dice", that means I will be the only one "rolling" the dice to determine outcomes, as others could easily fabricate a number to benefit themselves. In other words, I'm simply taking a precaution to ensure that combat is fair, and that there are no loopholes. If you don't like this idea, I apologize, but too many people drag out fights by constantly dodging attacks, or blocking them.
#2: Story over Rules.
I like to use the term "Story over Rules" a lot, and the meaning behind it is simple. If I choose NOT to roll, and simply decide an outcome for a combat action, so as to benefit the story or set up a strong villain; that is my choice, and as such is for the story. At the start of the adventure, there may be a few of these, fair warning beforehand.
#3: Protected by Plot.
There will be a time when I place a character in front of players and I will say "[Protected by Plot]". What this means, is that this particular character cannot be killed or beaten at the current point of the Roleplay, because the plot, A: Doesn't call for it. B: They are killed or beaten at another point. Or of course, C: There is a specific reason I won't reveal, such as their redemption later on, or not having the right means to dispose of them.
If I give a character "Protection by Plot", I have a reason for it.
-------------------------------------------------------------
ABOUT THE GUIDE:
There is a guide to the RP, which can be viewed by following the link below.
http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=146319505
The guide will give you some helpful pointers and will show you important things, such as Races, Weapon Classes, and the like.
It'd be a good idea to take a quick look at it.
-------------------------------------------------------------
ROLES:
Roles are used as a way to either help with character creation, or can be used for those that want to build a character around an archetype.
There can only be one of each Role. Example, there can't be two Commanders at one time.
Another thing about these roles, is that these are villain roles. They are roles designed to be a contrast from the hero roles of the first chapter.
Each of these roles are non-magical, though like hero roles, they CAN gain access to magical items. By non-magical, I mean that they cannot be the Magus, Bishop or Warlock classes.
If you want to play as one, you will have to go without a role, which will make you a villain's trooper.
Roles are NOT required to join the thread, they are just a small thing meant for help with character creation or for a bit of flare for your character.
Please Note: Roles do not make a player an Admin.
Veteran Bounty Hunter: This Bounty Hunter is after Carith the Mage-Slayer's head. Dead or Alive, it doesn't matter to him/her, he/she just wants the reward. He/she is an expert in his/her field, and is one of the greatest Bounty Hunters of all time. He/she knows full well that fighting Carith will be no walk in the park, and as such, comes prepared. The Archmage personally hired this Bounty Hunter, and gave him/her a Mirror of Tracking, so as to find and hunt Carith down.
Newbie Bounty Hunter: This Bounty Hunter is always at odds with the veteran, because he/she is new to the trade. Though he/she is new to the way of the Bounty Hunter, he/she is skilled enough to complete some missions. Unlike the Veteran Bounty Hunter, this one wasn't hired by anyone. He/she just tags along in hopes that he/she can get a good bounty.
Commander of the Troops: This man is the leader of the non-magical troops, and is an expert in his field of combat. A man who shapes his soldiers into a formidable fighting force, and one who is a highly skilled fighter himself. His troops hold respect for him, as he is not only fair to them, but also cares greatly about their well being. Though he is out to kill Carith and friends, he is mostly interested in the rumors that a "Child Mercenary" is among Carith's companions. If what is said is true, than this is the same mercenary that single handily defeated him and his troops in the ruins of a castle two years ago. And this man wants revenge.
Hired Assassin: This assassin is cold, brutal, and effecient. He/she doesn't care who he/she hurts or kills, just so long as he/she get's his/her money. The Hired Assassin travels with the enemy's group and is deadset on doing as he/she pleases, when he/she pleases. He/she doesn't like Ratatosk, the Crimson Magus, as he constantly holds him/her back. Though he/she has to listen to Ratatosk's orders like everyone else in his company, the Hired Assassin thinks that in a matter of time, that will be changed. And he/she intends to be the one to change it.
Released Prisoner: A man/woman that was thrown in prison for crimes against the Magic-Users. The Archmage, knowing that he/she has some skill, has offered him/her freedom from prison, if he/she will help bring in, or kill the companions. He/she couldn't refuse. The Released Prisoner, though ragged and scruffy, is indeed skilled. He/she will sometimes be distracted by the world however, as he/she has been locked away for so long.
-------------------------------------------------------------

(So... Know if Z0rr0w's gonna be coming back? Jurax has little meaning as a best friend if the hero ain't coming.)
Character Name: Jurax Donsdail
Character Age: 567 (Err... I might change it depending on the Hero's age... Or what Sylph age is adulthood.)
Character Gender: Male
Race: Sylph
Weapon Class: Ronin
Role: Best Friend
Appearance: Jurax is about 5 feet 6 inches, has brown hair, pale skin, and turquoise eyes. He also wears his hair in a British ponytail. He wears a scale armor tunic, with plate leggings, linen sleeves, studded leather gloves (To prevent rashes from his sword more than defending his hands), a bag slung across his back, which also has a sheathe built into it for his sword, a simple bronze longsword, and a hood made of scale armor like his tunic, protecting against arrows, lowering encumbrance, but not doing so well against shock damage.
Personality: Jurax likes to try and crack a joke here and there, and is rather laid back. He doesn't care how the common folk dislike him for being a Sylph, and how the Magic-Users dislike him for giving up the ways of priest magic his family tried to teach him as a child. He is loyal to his friend, the Hero.
Bio: Jurax was born in a powerful but not really noted family of Priest Sylphs. They had often tried to teach him Light magic, but Jurax had no aptitude for magic at all. As a matter of fact, he tried to even avoid it, sneaking out into the village to play with a friend he had made, the Hero.
Being Priests, his family had always told him to be friendly, and to show clemency and kindness to others. Of course, this backfired when Jurax was a little older then 132 (Susceptible to change depending on hero), and saw a man get whipped by Magic-Users. Seeing this, he went into a frenzy, running away from the castle, and completely renouncing all ties to his family and to magic.
Eventually, he came across a trainer, who taught him the style of the Ronin, and giving him the gift of the sword, and teaching him how to be completely rid of magic. After this, he eventually met the Hero and has been at his side since then.
Other 1: Some things here are susceptible to change, and I will post the changes after the Hero role is taken. I might also need to know a bit more about Sylph maturity.
Other 2: N/A |

(Nevermind, I PMed him.) (Well, for now, I'm going to just start the RP.)
The morning mist hung over the air like some sort of ominous cloud. All the while, the companions crouched on the ground, staring at a huge white tower; It's bricks sealed tightly, and missing any doors, windows or entrances.
Carith the Mage-Slayer stared up at the Ivory Tower, his striped head tilted up, looking at the top. His purple eyes flitted from side to side, as well as up and down. Gazing about, taking in everything.
Turning his back on the tower, he slid down a boulder, and beckoned to Valter.
"What is it?" the blonde man asked. "Did you see her?"
The Brock's striped muzzle clenched in anger, and his paw tightened on the grip of his sheathed greatsword.
"If the plan works, we can get inside and rescue Lorelei, but if it fails, we're done for."
Valter looked at the tower, he had his doubts about the plan. Though he knew that Carith obviously knew what he was talking about, and was capable of seeing magic and auras, he knew that this was a plan that would most likely fail. So Valter himself had come up with a plan in the event of things going awry.
In the meantime, Veil, the child mercenary, had deposited his weapons on the ground, and they were a sight to behold.
Other than his iron sword, he had a Silence-Sword, an Armorslayer and a Light Brand; all wrapped into one bundle.
The boy then turned his cold eyes to Carith.
"That's all of them. As soon as we break free of our captors, I'll be going back for my weapons."
Carith nodded, and addressed the situation.
"Lorelei is held in a cell on the fifteenth floor. She doesn't seem to be guarded, and there is a strong aura of Magic inside the cellars. I don't know what it is, but if anything, it's a Head Bishop." he said.

CHARACTER SHEET
Character Name: Auren Corve
Character Age: 24
Character Gender: M
Race: Human
Weapon Class: This where I put my class? Mk, swordsman. (DPS, You know, dual swords.)
Role: N/A (I do NOT want to be evil.)
Appearance: He has pale skin, and strikingly gold eyes, and jet black hair that he barely atends to, except to cut his hair. He has a slightly angular face, but not like an elf's. (I suppose an elf has an extremely angular face..) He stands at 6' 1", and has a slightly muscled build. He wears a coat, with a hood, and has a Manchette (gloves) and boots. (For a better visual on the clothes-http://darksouls2.wikidot.com/swordsman) He wields two silver/steel sabres.
Personality: He's kind normally, though slightly bloody. He often acts on whims, though he is slightly strategic and somewhat of a leader. He is often an optimist, though he won't deny clear facts. Funny and likable, too, though still excellent at the sword.
Bio: Auren was born to a noble house, who originally wanted him to become a bishop. However, the blademaster intervened, and Auren ended up being an apprentice for the blademaster at the age of 13. At 16, his house made a rare visit to the head bishop of their city, and after what Auren saw with most of the magic-users arrogance, he decided to leave the house when he finished his apprenticeship. Two years later, he did exactly that.
He traveled around for the better part of three years. More and more he saw the haughtiness and arrogance of magic-users as he wandered around, doing the odd job, and occasional bounty. But then a year later, he abruptly changed from aimless wandering to a fixed purpose: find the Mage-slayer, and join him. Why the abrupt change? Let's say his house hates him after finding that he killed his cities head Bishop after getting into a heated..er, spirited, argument.
Other 1: Meh, I would put that he has a magical pet/friend from another plane, but I dunno if that's allowed.

"A bishop. Figures with the tower," Jurax says in reply, dropping his longsword. "So, I actually forgot: What's our plan?"
Jurax immediately braced himself to hear Carith's perhaps extremely effective and stupid plan and to ignore Veil's tongue-lashing. He never liked the kid. |

Carith tosses his greatsword into the pile of weapons. As he does so, he patiently lays out the strategy he's come up with.
"We're going to let ourselves get captured." he says. "They're Bishops, so they don't believe in torture, so we don't have to worry about that."
Placing his right paw in the center of his left, he pops his knuckles as he turns to look at the tower again.
"If they put us into cells, I'll just tear the bars off of them." he continues. "If they put us into quarters, we'll have to find a way to sneak about quietly at night."
-----
o~~~~~~~~~o |Meanwhile| o~~~~~~~~~o
Ratatosk the Crimson Magus had been issued orders by the Archmage. He was to take the commander of the non-magical troops, and depart from the capital city of Magic-Users. His mission; hunt down Carith the Mage-Slayer, and his companions, and bring Carith back to the capital, dead or alive. The Archmage also provided an assassin, a bounty hunter, and a released prisoner as company, and they were later joined by a second bounty hunter. Ratatosk himself had brought along a large group of lesser Magic-Users, along with Ernis and Charon.
It was morning, foggy and, unlike near the Ivory Tower, it was raining. Ratatosk had pulled up the hood of his cloak and trudged along at the head of his troop. As the right hand of the Archmage, he would not toy with the Mage-Slayer and his little group again. This time, he would be out for blood, but he would ensure to be careful not to kill the Mage-Slayer unless there was no other option.
The wind and rain lashed out at the army, making it seem like nature itself hated them. |
