| You may be asking, "why would anyone want to ban it, other than exploiters?", but here's the problem: it digs into your files, and as far as I'm aware, is illegal. The script can easily be altered to detect other things, which is an invasion of privacy. |

| I mean, if you can create a script that digs into people's files in ROBLOX, then imagine what sort of things you could do with that. |

| If they're using what I believe they are it's being fixed already, as far as I know anyway. |

You see, Ulrond, it is a worm virus, something malicious that runs your PC.
-1 point for not understanding what this anti-ce script is.

A lua script on ROBLOX is not going to search your hard drive, and it cannot.
You are an idiot. |

How about you look it up first before you act like a complete jerk and insult me for no reason. This is what I hate about the forums; people like you.
for i = 1, 4 do local a = Instance.new("Decal", workspace.BasePlate) a.Texture = "rbxasset://../../../../../../../../Program Files (x86)/Cheat Engine 6."..i.."/Cheat Engine.exe"--the part where it digs in end
game:GetService("LogService").MessageOut:connect(function(message, type) if message:match("Failed to resolve texture format") and type == Enum.MessageType.MessageError then game.Players.LocalPlayer:Kick() end end) |

"Merely: If you don't treat this as a exploit it will become one. People are starting to figure it out. http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=146276279 Targeted attacks against users - you can see which programs a user has downloaded, and potentially which versions of software they're running. Say you find out someone has an out of date version of Java that has open security holes. You could convince them into visiting your website and wreak havoc on their machine. Since you know this information about the programs they have installed and versions, you could perform very targeted attacks against individual users to steal their accounts. If you think this is a theoretical attack vector, just wait a few months." |

I just posted the local script into this thread. If you actually bothered to look at it, you'd realize that it IS POSSIBLE. |

@Tenako
I think you may have a keylogger. Although this is irrelevant to this thread, as the script cannot insert anything into anyone's C:\ drive, as far as I'm aware. Anyway, download RogueKiller and a good free anti-virus like Avira and run scans with them. RogueKiller is good as it ends processes that are malicious and would most likely tackle the keyloggers. |

For those who don't know; A little while ago, a script from MLP RPG was leaked. It was supposedly an anti-CE script. It has a simple use; kick all players with cheat engine. Seems good in virtue right? Well, the only issue is; it detects Cheat Engine by digging in your computer. So basically, this script can rummage through your files. On ROBLOX.
(I'm not a programmer, so these are what I was told. Or what I concluded.) I'm guessing ROBLOX had some kind of a functionality, where scripts can access the file navigator and see if local files exist, like cheat engine. People just forgot about it.
It's not actually illegal. That's a lie. Programs check if other files on your computer exists all the time. The games cannot edit, upload, or download any files from or onto the computer that belongs to the "victim". The client computer can listen to sound files and see images, but only the client will be able to see it. Your privacy is safe.
If you were to try and find out information using these methods, short of brute-forcing various potential computer user-names and checking if that folder exists, you're not getting any personal information from the client at all.
If they deleted it, no one would care. it's not dangerous. Just bad virtues.
COMMENCE HATRED ~~ Don't worry; everything will be alright in the end. ~~ |

@solman123 Thank you for that explanation. Now people can understand it better. And yes, I'm aware that it's not illegal - I realized that hours after posting. However, it can be used maliciously, as Merely explained. |
