Well, the answer is you don't.
You can have altered stuff, with science, but not magic. |

yeah
I've ran into a brick wall then.
I already have assets for Wards and Barriers, and have the configurations for them set up.
Even half way done with assets for biotic powers and mage spells.
hmmmmm
idk
I don't want to throw away these assets, but trying to explain how magic and science can work in the same canon universe is a hard thing to do
go all K.A. Applegate up here and throw in a Yeerk and throw a meteor at the planet, that should work!
I don't even remember how that one series where they had 2 worlds and connected to the other one through sleep thing went but uh yeah that

| Why not have two groups, the power of magic vs the power of science. |

| Just say magic is an unexplainable thing which comes from certain objects and for unknown reasons is only controlled by some people. |

That... might actually work.
Yes, that actually might.
Keep the actual mechanics of how a secret, and simply explain biotics and magic as:
Biotic users explain magic as a special type of biotic skill, although they lack the ability to use it themselves. Biotics are born with their skills, as a result of exposure to a rare chemical early in their life that connects their nervous system with levitation powers, and mass-manipulating powers, allowing them to do a variety of tasks that ordinary people are unable to do. Biotics are able to summon these powers to weaken armor, teleport, rip apart an enemy, levitate, increase their speed, and teleport.
Magic users explain biotics as a kind of gift from some high power, and say that with enough dedication, anyone can use biotics, although no mage has used biotics before. Mages are able to use spells that can summon fire, frost, etc, increase their speed, teleport, and other tasks. Although the origin of magic is still unknown, many hope to one day unlock it's secrets.

Are you making an RPG?
Also, " teleport, rip apart an enemy, levitate, increase their speed, and teleport" you said teleport twice. |

No, I'm working on stuff for Stronghold Palatrin.
Less shooty shooty and more MMORPG-RTS Shooty shooty. (ala Mass Effect + Titanfall + World of Warcraft)

Damnit, I'm always 2 spaces off.
But I always think I nail it and if I do take 2 spaces off, I'll miss.

just make it science
give the user and implementation or some kind of glove device that can replicate and defy the laws of science
or go with destiny and say some magical goddess gives you holy powers to kill monsters across the galaxy |

or you could follow the index/railgun idea
science unlocks people's inner potential, granting them their own version of the world that melds with the real one allowing them to use their power and believe it's factually correct when they view it
then there's those that can't do that/have 0 potential for it and turn to ancient texts/magic to substitute for it |
