Heres a topic most of you OTers can probably relate to; and I ask will it ever go away; because it simply slows me down in life; and I do not need something that will prevent me from excelling. I've had it for a long time; and despite my best efforts; it wont die.

Yep. I still have it, but not as much when I was younger.

Alright; thanks. Its annoying; I fight against it constantly; I don't care about what other people think; yet its there. Very odd.

focus on talking to the person and not what could happen when you dk

for as long as you intend to say something and think of your desired outcome youre fine

know what youre saying and why and dont stress it farther

its a reasons why i have good composure outside of my solititude

Alright thanks; tried that in Algebra; tried explaining something, I carefully chose the words; and planned out all the questions; but oddly I couldn't say it all; I did not think of the people but the words I spoke itself; it became shaky; the words original meaning distorted; it does this all the time. I tore my skin from my thumbs rubbing the tin ferrule wrapped around the eraser. While I am used to this feeling; I felt as if this one shamed me in a way.

All day, every day, life is like this. Fear. Apprehension. Avoidance. Pain. Anxiety about what you said. Fear that you said something wrong. Worry about others' disapproval. Afraid of rejection, of not fitting in. Anxious to enter a conversation, afraid you'll have nothing to talk about. Hiding what's wrong with you deep inside, putting up a defensive wall to protect your "secret".

I've just learned to deal with it. I've just recently started talking to girls. Before that; I've been way too shy.

Eh.. Maybe I'm hiding something; though it seems hidden to myself; this fear, I cannot find the source; I don't know what I'm afraid of really, I claim to not care for all those things; and strongly believe I do. But I am not sure if it truly bothers me.

Everytime I speak to someone I feel like they're thinking about me, and not about good things either.

I only get it around people I don't know
If I know you relatively fine, then it might settle a bit but not much

I keep a clear mind; either that or I'm so used to thinking about it that I've gotten used to the thought and it seems translucent to me.

My actual view on social anxiety is the thought that you're being judged from the minute you're seen; that people already have the predetermined notion that you're a good person or bad person based on how you act, talk, walk, etc. (which of course, I tend to get a lot since I'm black)
I think it's only when you learn to feel good about yourself and who you are that you learn that social anxiety can be controlled to some degree or even suppressed completely
Once you gain that confidence, people will notice

I don't think it will go away for me.
I quit my piano lessons because of it, it's only getting worse in my case.
Hopefully it will go away for you.

I can't seem to pinpoint the problem.. Judging doesn't seem like an issue but it does..

The saying "first impression is everything" is true in so many ways
How you present yourself, how you speak, etc. all contribute to how people see you (e.g. a man wearing wrinkled clothing appears lazy and unorganized while a man in a neatly pressed suit appears organized and hard-working)

I'm usually in a baggy hoodie and skinny jeans; with a fox tail, my blonde hair with black roots a mess, my face dry, my hazel eyes cold; unloving. My voice calm; yet unrested. I've been around these people my whole life; yet I seem to still have anxiety.

Body language plays a part in first impressions as well; acting any way (that isn't seen as "normal") often causes people to have misconceptions about your character

Then you shouldn't have much to worry about, honestly
Unless you have jerks who spout ignorant opinions about random people, everyone should see you as a quiet, easy-going guy
I'm honestly the same, except I warm up to people and become talkative

Probably. My ex had lots of panic attacks and such.

I personally don't have it that bad; I just get all red; sweaty; stutter; loose my placement of words, and need to feel something rubbing against my fingers constantly or my heart rate will rapidly climb; and I won't be able to speak; I haven't ever not rubbed; but I can already guess what would happen.
