The Smiler is indeed an Alton Towers ride, yes. A highlight of many people's stay.

List of Alton Tower rides recommended for 15+:
Air Rita (recommended for speed) The Smiler (has thirteen total loops) Ripsaw Oblivion (fairly short ride but has a gigantic drop) Nemesis Thirteen
If you want small queues, be aware that it gets a lot more lonely after 4PM (English time) and easier to get into rides.

Alton Towers and Thrope Park are the only good ones. Legoland is good too but there are no rides there. |

I live close to Thorpe Park. It's really fun there, but after a going on each ride a couple of times it gets kinda boring. I have been to Alton Towers and it's really fun. I think the rides there are more exciting but that's my opinion. I've not been there very recently though. In fact, I haven't been there for really long and I barely remember it. I've heard from lots of people that it's still really good though. Chessington is more for younger kids. They have lots of animals but they aren't very interesting. There are only a couple of "fun" rides but they're nothing compared to Thorpe Park and Alton Towers. The queues for the rides are ridiculous everywhere though. You wait like over an hour just for a 2 minute roller coaster. I'd pay for the fast tracks to skip the lines. I'd say Alton Towers is the best, closely followed by Thorpe Park. |

What? No. I don't think many people have died there. Anyway, the rides don't break that much. |

I hate theme parks and rollercoasters, but my sister loves the hell out of Alton Towers.
Drayton Manor is alright, but Alton Towers is better when it comes to rollercoasters, apparently. |

Cut off your legs and become disabled to skip the lines for free. |
