Amendment Link: http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=145766336
Ok. You effed up. Here is some knowledgable information. You need to understand that there is a difference between the Department of Justice and the Judicial Branch. The Attorney General is, essentially, the Chief of Police of the United States Law Enforcement (also sharing some of that duty with the Secretary of Homeland Security.) The Judicial Branch has the duty if Constitutional Interpretation. The Executive Branch has the duty of, well, executing those Constitutional ideals, as decided by the methods declared by the Legislative Branch.
The Attorney General appoints Special Investigators. They prosecute government officials (usually) before the Judicial Courts. Now. If you want to move that to the Judicial Branch, power would slide greatly to the Judicial Branch, in the most Biased fashion. You would have to understand that at this point, the Judicial Branch would have to use people before themselves. This is America. Not North Korea.
If you think it's unfair that the President gets all that ability, well... There is a reason why the President is the leader of the country, not the Chief Justice, not the Speaker of the House. You're amendment is nonsense. The Attorney General (with help of the Secretary of Homeland Security) are the (informally) Secretary of the Interior. You would deliver the whole law enforcement and prosecution system to they who are supposed to be politically neutral and unified.
That is like saying we should go back to electing the Vice President individually, rather than as a partner to the President (that is a whole new discussion as it does work somewhat like that). Just as the VP is the Executive voice to the Legislative, the Attorney General is that to the Judicial.
You need to keep the power balanced. If you think THAT is what makes our balance off, instead, go to Congress and remind them they do not serve at the pleasure of the President like they think they do. In fact. The President serves at the pleasure of them.
But I can't blame you for being unknowledgable of these facts. Afterall, you didn't even know you should be being impeached right now for CLEARING violating Article I; Section VI; Clause ii of the Constitution. You can't be a DA and a Congressman.
"No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been encreased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office."
Good day.

| @faux; yes and no. I will post a forum soon stating how elections work at fine detail. It's really hard to elect a different VP that isn't selected by the President elect. |

the president and vice president are completely different offices and are elected separately. the vice president however is usually chosen by the president elect or chosen by the party because the vice president is a member of his party.
the president and vice president aren't a package deal and they shouldn't be treated as such. |
