Canadian Armed Forces: Rules of Engagement and general protocol (ROE ~ BP) Article I: No soldier may fire upon an unidentified individual, unless fired upon. They may only fire if and only if the individual is an identified enemy of state, if he/she crosses a checkpoint without the appropriate clearance or permission, or if the individual fires upon the soldier. Any soldier who ignores Article I will immediately be suspended by the base commander of CO, and will face federal prosecution. Article II: All soldiers are obligated to follow a commanding officer's orders, unless the order is going contrast to the bill of rights. Any soldier who disobeys or defies an order by a commanding or supervising officer, will be immediately suspended and face consequences at the discretion of the supervising or commanding officer. Disrespect and defiance will not be tolerated, and will result in punishment at the discretion of the officer. Article III: After ROE and BE protocol is passed for the first time and approved by the Minister of Justice in coordination with the head of CAF, including the commander in chief, and the Minister of defense, the ROE document may not be modified by anyone except the CIC, under the supervision of the Department of Justice. Article IV: The Canadian Armed Forces reserves the right to limit and withhold usage of the bill of rights in military property (to CAF personnel). |
