It was about global warming and she said she didn't believe in global warming and so she shouldn't be made to watch the video...
I'm thinking... GLOBAL WARMING DENIALISM ISN'T A FREAKING RELIGION. The reason she probably denies it is because she refuses to view anything pertaining to it.

Honestly, the term "global warming" is a misnomer. The earth goes through cycles of heating and cooling all the time. Also, generally, while one part of the earth is warming, another is cooling. So really, it should be "regional warming" or something like that.
But I agree, this girl is over reacting lol.

Global Warming doesn't exist, it's just that dumb people's heads get so hot it makes the temperature increase.

if you don't believe in something, you deny the proof of an existing object
the act of even THINKING it's religion is stupid
she was never implying it was a religious statement, it was her opinion on why she didn't believe global warming

idk ever notice how the highs are higher than they were years ago? I mean, it still rains and there are still cold days, but the highs seem higher than they were before Like, in the 90s, usually. Idk, I live in Ohio so this shouldn't come as a surprise to me |

>"Honestly, the term "global warming" is a misnomer. The earth goes through cycles of heating and cooling all the time."
No it doesn't. The hell have you been getting your climate information from? Fox News?
Any time the climate gets hotter or colder, it's because there's a reason. It doesn't just go through periods like a Cepheid or something.
>"Also, generally, while one part of the earth is warming, another is cooling. So really, it should be "regional warming" or something like that."
The overall temperature of the planet is going up, hence the word "climate" in "climate change" and the word "global" in "global warming".
And the reason for it is a demonstrable, undebatable fact that has consensus in the entire scientific community.
If you're gong to say the thousands of scientists with degrees are wrong, then you better have a pretty darn good reason.
>"honestly I feel like the summers have been getting warmer in the US, but I might just be sensitive to heat"
That's weather. Not climate.

I really shouldn't be surprised. It's near impossible to predict the weather where I live. If you can accurately predict it, you're either God or Satan. Or whatever religious figures you might believe in. |

It's going to get colder before it gets hotter. This summer barely reached 24C, when it's usually soaring at 32C |

Stop talking about your individual weather experiences. I am talking about CLIMATE change. Not your personal weather experiences.
Please stop posting off topic. No one cares if your summer was hot or last week was cold for you. |

From my science book . Also, there is evidence that it does go through cycles. There is proof of a "mini - i ce age." I can't remember the dates, but I think it was like from five hundred to fifteen hundred or something like that. Now it's warming back up. It'll cool down again eventually.
Also, for every thousand scientists with a degree, there is another thousand with equal degrees who disagree with them.
At any rate, this isn't going to turn into a flame war.

That is an absurd lie.
"of all...peer-reviewed abstracts on the subject 'global climate change' and 'global warming' published between 1991 and 2011...over 97% of the papers taking a position on the subject agreed with the consensus position that humans are causing global warming"

Also, you are assuming that "http://www.skepticalscience.com/global-warming-scientific-consensus-intermediate.htm" is an unbiased source that has taken into account every single paper written.
