wat
there's still holes in the theory, otherwise it wouldn't be a theory dude |

Technically gravity is just a theory but I think we know this exists

@Jason There is holes, but it is by far the most viable thing we have so far.. Also, there is not really such a thing as scientific fact. Gravity and physics are theories still

Gravity and Physics are still theories because they've been broken before.

@ve: No, its gravity is a law.
There are many hypothesis' on gravity and why it exists, but none are supported with enough evidence to be theories.
ALso, judging by the way you used theory, I doubt you understand the difference between a theory and just a guess. |

>It is just a theory.
Let me explain to you what a scientific theory is, because you are clearly ill-informed. A scientific theory is basically what we know about something, and how it works in the realm of science. In fact, if there was a hierarchy ins science, theories would be regarded more highly than laws. A scientific theory doesn't mean 'oh we aren't for sure if this thing actually exists or not', it is more like 'well, we know it exists but we aren't for sure exactly how it works fully, so we'll keep on studying it to learn more about it, but we know it is real' |

| what voidhack says means that theories aren't 'guesses' or 'hypothesies'. In science, if something is a 'theory', it is very solid up to being the point of being a fact. A law explains theories |

| Biologists define evolution as a change in the gene pool of a population over time. One example is insects developing a resistance to pesticides over the period of a few years. Even most Creationists recognize that evolution at this level is a fact. What they don't appreciate is that this rate of evolution is all that is required to produce the diversity of all living things from a common ancestor. |

My above statement was regarding the point that evolution hasn't been observed. Also, thank you XC6. |

My above statement was copied from a website, I should have given my source. I couldn't think of a good explanation of evolution we can observe. |

People don't understand that theories can almost never become laws because laws are like "if you do this to A, then B will always happen". If "scientific facts" (quotes there for a reason) were a hierarchy, theories would be on the top.
