Hey it was the only way to end the war
Oh well, would of rather had the war last another four years? |

Yeah, that completely justifies killing innocent civilians.

"That justifies killing innocent citizens"
Thats how our country was born, how we fought civil rights, and how we're fighting the Middle East right now
We never changed

are you aware that by that time we had defeated germany
all the other countries could've put their effort on japan
we would've won in less than a year

>drop two atomic bombs with a few days to a week's notice and kill ~150,000 people and end war >considered an inferior option to continuing the war for years to come and causing civilian casualties as well as military casualties in the near millions |

"200,000 people"
the bombing of nagasaki only resulted in around 70,000 deaths |

nag + hiro = approximately 140-200k
there were several alternatives to bombing them. |

the only justification for the nukes was that japan was arming their civilians to fight to the death anyways.
millions would have died, not thousands in any kind of ground invasion. |

squid that is so exaggerated its not even funny
just the logic that they lost 200k civilians and surrender, do you really think they would have wasted millions if they would have just surrendered at a 200k loss.

yes seeing as preparations had been in place for at least a year prior.
hell they were training them with goddam bambo sticks.
it would have been a massacre akin to germany overrunning poland in '39, except this time it'd be against every single civilian.
combine that with a soviet invasion in north japan given time, japan would have ended up like korea. |

japan had more unity then north korea, so no
remember korea had just gotten independence after being a japanese colony so there was no sense of absolute unity which is why it was so easily diviable
and regardless of that we could have used 1 bomb to demonstrate to them the power of it AND THEN bomb them, that would atleast be more justifyable then a meaningless letter that seems more of an empty threat
europe would be more then willing to help out. |
