As I've explained before my gym teacher is a total CNT

So today we have long block (1:30) Class

We had to run the mile, and i went slow to piss her off, i got a 12:05, she graded us as follows:

10:00+ = F
9:00+ = D
8:00+ = C
7:00+ = B
6:00+ = A

Which is complete bullcrap

That's not fair at all. PE is't about physical ability, it's about physical effort. If you're trying your absolute hardest you should get an A or B.

It is legal and every school that I know has to run a mile and gives grades based on the time you run...

Thats a load, in a public education system that forces physical education on its students, should not have rules in place that set up people who have obesity to fail

Yes there was an obese kid in my class who ran a 14 minute mile

I know that, but I'm talking about in general. They shouldn't be able to grade you based on your time.

Id say those times are quite hard to get if you are overweight.

When I was fat, I ran an 8 to 8:30 minute mile. I can probably get an A now if I try. But you can't really blame kids physical ability on the ignorance of their parents.

A lot of schools don't teach nutrition and health at all.

PE doesn't even count towards your GPA
There's a reason for that

You're legally required to run the mile and be graded on it, and the grading system is up to your teacher

Yours seems a bit extreme though

In our school anything under 7 minutes is an A, 7-10 minutes is a B, and if you go over 10 minutes you fail

Yet people who failed still made an A in PE
PE is impossible to fail, even if you tried

PE does count towards GPA. At least for most of America.

should be based on how hard you do in PE. can't expect an overweight person to get 6 minutes, if they get a 12 minute mile or something and the overweight person worked really hard for it, then yes, they should get an A or B for that, not a fail. and plus, don't you have to run less than 10 minutes in the mile to pass?

To run a 12 minute mile you have to walk half of the course...

Passing a fat person for running a 12 minute mile in PE is like passing a kid in English class who can't read

To get an A, you have to meet the standard regulations of being considered a healthy child?

Good.

again, do you expect an overweight person to get a 6 minute mile? and a healthy child getting a 12 minute mile isn't working their hardest. they sweated and worked hard, so that means that they are willing to get better.
