unclear i can see why you say that if it comes to visuals
i'm not going to lie, the new RAT stuff looks great. functionality, however, could have been a bigger priority and not have been the mild disappointment that it was to some people on the otherhand, in my honest opinion as a developer, the shadow hex project could visually look a lot better. i'm perfectly happy with how the inside works, but i'm really disappointed how the base and gui design came out, in my opinion due to lack of communication.
granted, all the visuals at the base weren't my job in the first place, so that's not even my opinion to state |

Yeah, I don't really care about silly things like functionality. Those are easily fixed and fundamentally shared across most of the clan world.
People like SilentSwords will praise gameplay, and honestly that's such a vague term that's super subjective; ultimately the best gauge of what's "good" and what's "bad" in terms of production comes down to visuals.

@Vass, The only two reasons why Sierra took a very long time to be developed are; one RAT was recently at war with Tri-Clan, and secondly, all the drama with/about Meto exiling Polymorphic prevented Poly from developing it.

I was speaking in the context of judging projects from the development standpoint. No need to take it to such extremes.
It sounds harsh, but developers don't really care about the client. It's assumed that you can make something functional, and if you can't you can always quickly learn to patch things up.
It's much much easier to base it off of something concrete like visuals rather than something subjective like how it "feels" (though that could also be considered as a visual depending on how it's done).

u srs If that's what you feel as a developer, that's fine. The only opinions I actually care about are others'. No matter how I feel about a finished project, there's always one person that will say that either it's bad or that I could have made something better, and that's what I want to make better. Not that I don't want anyone saying that, but I'd rather someone's first impression be something about it being great and looking theme-fitting as well as efficient, as well as functional. If you don't have design, for the most part you can't have functionality. Without functionality, for the most part you can't have design. |
