Untrue statement. White people back in the 70s/80s were so uncultured because America was mainly white and they were against blacks, Indians, etc. Hip Hop grew in the 90s and stuck out to the African American crowd and showed the white people a small part of what black people like, so in a way, it showed white Americans how others lived and what others liked, not just the way whites lived. (hopefully this makes sense...)
