I remember back when everything was so peaceful here in the USA.
Everyone had a single-family ranch home in the suburbs, drove their boxy sedan whenever they left their house. All families had a mom, a dad, a boy and a girl, plus we all respected authority. There were only three TV channels, all of them showing sitcoms meant for the whole family.
No one went out for fast food. Mom always would cook dinner, whether it was roasted chicken or mac and cheese, and everyone ate their cereal and drank their milk. The great sport of baseball was played everywhere, and it was a laid-back time, not a glorified competition like it is today for most kids.
(If you're wondering, I'm parodying the "tinted lens" view of nostalgia of the baby boomer generation.) |

I also remember when music was actually GOOD. All the parents listened to old-time jazz and crooners, and the teens and kids listened to Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. Sure, there were times these people acted a bit "edgy", but they never were as bad as the musicians today!
Why can't the 2010's be like the 1950's?

| Don't forget that everyone spoke perfect Midwestern English, and the closest thing to slang was "Gee whiz!" |

"And Americans were in constant fear of a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. Oh yes the good ol' days"
Their submarines which were just knock offs of german WW2 Subs could be detected by SOSUS, Their bombers could not reach the inner US only Alaska and our F86 Sabers or the F100 Super Saber could climb up to their altitude and shoot them down same for the F104 Starfighter, We had U2 Spy planes that could not get detected or intercepted by the MiG17 or 50s soviet radars and early SAMs until they desinged new radars in the 60s and inovated new interceptors like the MiG21 and MiG19
Our post war tanks like the M48 Patton and Centurion or the UK were in all aspects superior to the T55 Exepct for in numbers WW2 Also crippled their missile production capability so not many WMDs would strike us |
